Default Was Frank Bruno the first ever to trouble Mike Tyson??I believe so!

Was our great Frank Bruno the first ever real heavyweight fighter to ever test Tyson's chin??

Check out the right, left of Bruno's shots on Tyson at the last 50 seconds of the first round.Bruno was close to stopping Tyson,if only he backed off a bit and sat on his punches cleaner on Tyson while he was on the ropes after he clocked him with that great left hook.

Check the shot of Bruno at the last 50 seconds of the 1st round.Tyson's legs buckle and he holds of for the first time in his career.

I seem to remember Tony Tucker catching him with a left uppercut early on in their fight - think it may even have been first round.

Didn't hurt him as much as Bruno's left but defo stopped him in his tracks.

Then again I'm assuming that Tucker fight came before Bruno - think it did...

Bonecrusher Smith had him hurt on the bell in the 12th, prior to Tucker or Bruno

nope, the Tucker fight was well before Tyson fought Bruno, and guys like Bonecrusher Smith and Pinkon Thomas had already rocked Tyson before that

Yeh Bruno caught him good.Didn't Bonehugger land one jarring shot?Rewatching them now you can see quite a few land on Tyson the problem was they were punching like they were sorry, from the backseat and waiting for the reply.

Come on - Rocked Tyson I wouldn't call any of those punches that Bone Crusher, Pinklon or Tucker landing as "rocking" Tyson. They were solid punches and that's it. Bruno hurt Tyson no doubt about it. Even thou Mike got KO'd a few time he did have a great chin.

Basically Tyson's defence was that good you could count the number of times he was caught. He also had a good chin to take Bruno's punch because he came straight back. Can't honestly remember Pinklon troubling Tyson, but the other may have dazed him.

Whilst I believe Tyson's defense is (like himself) the stuff of legend (and I mean that sarcastically) he did not get rocked very often, I mainly explain that by looking at his opponents and understanding that the overwhelming majority of them feared retaliation rather than wished to inflict damage.

I believe Tyson was phenomenal but he has become like a folk tale hero and people freely exaggerate about how great he was and honestly he had a very weak era until later in his career and he was fed loads of tomato cans early on.

No doubt Bruno caught him with a good shot, Tyson's style was always going to see him be vulnerable as he kept on charging in. James Tillis probably troubled him more with two judges scoring it 6-4 over 10 rounds.

I think Teddy Atlas "troubled" Mike Tyson when he put a gun in his mouth and threatened to kill him after Tyson tried to rape Teddy's wife's 11 year old sister.

James Tillis come quite close to beating Mike Tyson back in 1986, before Mike Tyson won the title. He won 4 out of the 10 rounds, and had he not got knocked down, which was basically him lunging in stupidly getting caught off balance, it possibly could of been a draw. Because that was James Tillis's best round of the fight.

As others have mentioned, Tony Tucker rocked Mike Tyson in the 1st round with an uppercut. Actually lifting him off his feet, that showed Mike Tyson's good chin and good balance, also Bonecrusher Smith rocked Mike Tyson with seconds left in the fight, after hugging for the other previous 35.48 minutes.

So says Teddy....but I sometimes wonder about that. Has Tyson ever denied it?

I don't think I've ever screamed so loudly at the TV as I did when Frank rocked Tyson.
