as above?
Well it shows Pac isn't afraid to fight anyone unlike Floyd. Since Pac has moved to up in weight to 140 and 147 he's fought some really tough fighters: De la Hoya(though past his prime), Cotto, Hatton, Clottey, and now Margarito...if Pac is able to destroy Margarito it still means something.
I read it as what would a Margarito win do to Pac's resume.
If I understood correctly................I don't think it would hurt Pac's legacy at all really, Margarito is visibly huge compared to Pac and Pac is way above his weight. Further compound this with his political activity as distraction. And as is well documented now, Khan beat him into submission and left him in the fetal position crying during sparring
The only potential damage would be negotiations with $May
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Regadless if he loses his resume is still great. A fight with Floyd will NEVER happen if he loses to Margarito, though i think it doesn't have much of a chance of happening anyway.
Floyd does have a way of waiting until a fighter loses before he hops in the ring with them. I think Margarito is damaged goods personally, I mean the guy can't fight with loaded wraps anymore and vs Shane you could see it really did a number on his psyche. Toni was landing on Shane but the punches had no effect and Shane threw everything right back at him and Toni was mentally beaten before Shane ever truly hurt Toni.
That being said it's still a GIGANTIC accomplishment for Pac to KO/TKO Margarito just as it would be if Floyd KO'd Margarito, but then again they'd never fight so we shouldn't even bother with the hypothetical there.
Would be nice if because of this we finally saw a Floyd-Cotto fight.
