    Default Why so disgusted?

    To those of you who.....

    a)Are disgusted, Why?

b)were right all along; congratulations, I am equally as satisfied with myself for correctly predicting that New Zealand would beat Scotland at rugby today, had a quid on it as well I was so sure.

We all knew this was the most likely outcome didnt we? Audley is toilet, the most reluctant 'fighter' I've ever seen, even when he's winning he doesnt like to fight. What is there to complain about?

Pissed off that Audley didnt fight back? see previous paragraph.

Pissed off that he got a shot to start with? Has been happening longer than any of us have been watching fights and will happen again in a few hours.

The only valid moan is that this harms boxing. This 'fight' brought in a boat load of casual viewers, some of which wont bother next time and thats not good.

But again, we knew that already didnt we?
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

This was actually the first time I was impressed with Haye. He definitely did the job in style and for the first time suggested to me that he could unsettle Wladimir.

It certainly won't have harmed his profile, he destroyed Audley Harrison as soon as he opened up and that's all anyone will remember.

Good win for Haye, really made a statement.

The new one is Haye carried him until the third. Proved by him telling all his buddies he will win in the third.

NO fighter in history has ever predicted (and fluked/got it correct) the round they would win in.

    3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.

I did think it was odd that in the 2nd round haye had him on the ropes and instead of dishing out a sustained attack, stopped punching and backed off.

Everyone should be pissed because #1 We did all know the outcome of this fight before it ever happened and #2 Its just 1 more meaningless fight in the heavyweight division.

Talk the talk all you want but there's a long walk waiting for the winner of this fight and he won't be smiling at the end of it.

It was just a pointless fight. There are a dozen fighters that would have made for a decent fight with Haye and instead we got a fight with Audley. Harrison is well known as a second rate fighter, lacking in heart, chin and with a miserly punch output. It is outrageous that so many bought into it and made these two men obscene amounts of money.

Harrison apparently landed only a jab in the fight. The first sign of trouble and the white flag was being waved. A total farce. I am disgusted that the fight was ever made in the first place simply because I like to see champions in meaningful fights. As simple as that. I'm not all that annoyed though as I knew this would happen and I stayed in bed rather than get up riduculously early to watch it. And part of me is looking at those who are pissed off at having paid for it with a tongue stuck right out and a 'told you so' look on my face. Those kinds of people should have known better, more so if they have any respect for the sport of boxing.

Paying to watch that means it will happen again in the future. The only way to resist is to refuse to take part and tell everyone else not to partake as well. Margarito doesn't really deserve his shot, but let's not compare Margarito and Audley. They are totally different beasts. Margarito won't fall quite that easily.

Quite right mate, but they wouldnt have netted nearly as much would they. Again we are supposed to know better, we know its a sham of a contest so why the disgust?

Im comparing Harrison to Margarito in circumstance only believe me.

On second thoughts how many times have we been here with the 'people wont buy next time' line? They still do dont they

I disagree with that a bit memphis. Alot did the same as me found a near by pub that was showing it and watched in there.

If it ain't haye vs a klit i'm not going to buy PPV. I wouldn't PPV on a Khan't fight either.

I only pay for decent matches.

If it was a pointless fight it wouldn't have been packed to the rafters with even Lennox Lewis, Frank Bruno, Nigel Benn, Rio Ferdinand etc ringside to watch it.

It was made because people WANTED to see it. Nobody forced people to go or get the PPV, everyone was curious about the fight and it would have been commercially foollish for either fighter to not fight this fight.

I hate David Haye still, but I don't begrudge him taking this fight, I would have too had I been him. And EVERYONE has been talking about it and probably watched it, no matter what they said.

Next month Wladimir Klitschko faces off against the 14 fight novice Derek Chisora. When you look at the recent opponents of both Klitschko brothers you can hardly accuse Haye of facing subpar opposition.

The fact is that had David Haye not faced Audley Harrison, one of the Klitschko's almost certainly would have anyway. Chisora's only win of note is beating British prizefighter champ Sam Sexton, Albert Sosnowski got a shot for beating Danny Williams, and Audley was another Prizefighter winner and European champ.

He deserved his shot as much as any of those guys above.

Haye destroyed him, he should get credit for that.

But then thats probably been your stance all along. You not buying this time didnt make a dent because you werent going to buy anyway. Im guessing most of the people there werent there because they refused to pay the PPV, they just fancied watching the fight people were talking about and pint at the same time.

As sad as it is 'proper' fans are probably a drop in the ocean that is the PPV pot. If we get pissed off and boycot it it doesnt really matter

I was disgusted because zero punches were landed in round one, yes we all knew the result, but jesus christ do something. Bring excitement to the ring my ass.

It was a pointless fight. You have a champion in his prime taking on a guy reduced to fighting on some reduced rounds Prizefighter tournament and then losing his very next fight to a journeyman until a last gasp KO punch. Audley is barely anywhere the worlds top 50. There was no demand for Harrison against Haye whatsoever. However, the fight then gets signed and the propaganda machine gets to work and you get a load of people paying PPV for a mockery of a fight. It was quite pointless and has no particular meaning nor significance. Even a fight with Evander Holyfield or James Toney would have had far more significance. Audley is a nobody because he never was. Never beaten anyone of any note outside of Williams who was never particularly good anyway.

Why does Haye deserve credit for this? We all knew what the result would be. Audley landed one jab in the entire fight. He didn't even come to fight. And Haye deserves credit? Sorry Bilbo, I totally disagree with you on this one.
