Default Haye And Wlads U.S. Reps Start Negotiations in Vegas

BBC Sport - Haye and Klitschkos' US promoters talk in Las Vegas

Hopefully now this fight will happen. De La Hoya seems to think the time is right. Looks like it's time to start saving up to go to Vegas though.

Shame the fight will be in the states but that is where the money is.

    Says who?

I actually have plans to go to Vegas anyway....though it'll be in January and I doubt the fight happens then. I actually doubt these negotiations go any better than they did the last time. Give it a day and someone will be bitching about "slave contracts" etc etc etc all because Sauerland want an outrageous amount of money....that's why Valuev has never fought/will never fight a Klitschko.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with The Artist Formerly Known As Lyle. As TAFKAL says, why would the negotiations carried out in the states be any more fruitful than those carried out in Europe. By bringing one more set of negotiators in, that means there'll be two more sets of hands looking for a cut from the fortune.

Have a good time in Vegas, and make sure you leave Mike Tyson's tiger well alone.

I think that negotiations will be tough, but a little bit easier because the lion share of the profits will be from the states where it should make sense that they split the profits. Under the other terms Haye wanted British profits and that Wladimir would have germany profits, but Germany has these fights on cable, and Brittain has it on PPV, and also Wlad was helping it be such a big fight in brittain as well.

Sauerland are definitely a pain in the arse when it comes to these negotiations and in a ideal world Haye would fight someone else before Wlad and get rid of the problem that is Sauerland, but I think his next fight will be against Wlad now and I also think that Golden Boy will almost demand that it be in the States and therefore more than likely Vegas.

Boxing need this fight almost as much as the Pac vs Mayweather fight IMO. Boxing is only at it's most popular when there is interest in the HW division and this is the fight that most people want to see in the division.

If it does go ahead for spring and it does end up being in Vegas then I think it may be time for me to make my first visit to Vegas.

Maybe for you guys in the UK and possibly hardcore boxing fans, but the average sports fan in the US haven't heard of Haye or the Klit bros and aren't expecting this fight and most likely won't even care if it happens.

Have to agree with bulldog, don't think most anyone in the US will give a dam aside from the people that already follow the division as is. Fight would probably be huge in most of Europe but just don't see it generating any interest here, but who knows if they market it properly .Actually get ESPN and other sports channels to report on it a month in advance, sadly they only ever do when its pac or pbf related, do a 24/7, and maybe they could make people interested.
