Default Duddy retires, fight with Lee is off

Apparently that the irish all brawl won't happen and that it was the last time we saw Duddy in the ring:

He's shit, he's realized he's shit, and now he's buggered off. Good on him in a way. Makes me wish the vast majority of american fighters in the heavy weight division would do the same.

Andy Lee has a very frustrating career!
I heard a radio interview with him recently and he was relishing the thought of this fight.

Duddy seems a good guy. Glad he's a big enough man to make a decision like this in time. Best of luck to him.

Respect Duddy for admitting he did not have it and saving the boxing public being cheated out of a poor showing. Many other fighters should have done the same like Ruiz.

The man took a shot.,..Trained hard and did his best....Did not work out for him but he provided some very entertaining bouts...More entertaining then most of the top names that are supposedly the "Elite" of boxing be them American HWTS or otherwise...

WTF have you ever done?....Have you ever stepped in the ring? Fought and ex world champion?...Have you ever filled an MSG crowd?.....You talk about the guy like he was everything that is wrong with boxing....In fact Duddy is everything that boxing should be!!!!!!

A man that gave it his all and knew when it was time to walk away instead of living a pipe dream.....He sdhowed respect to not only the game but those in it...And he did the most important thing any fighter could have...Gave the fans their moneys worth.....You have yet to make a worthy post......

As for American heavyweights yes the division is weak in general right now AND there are no top US fighters and has not been in a long time but look at the ATG list......Everyone in the top 10 is from where?

Daxx that guy is a button pusher, he's almost on VD's level but not quite. He doesn't have any boxing knowledge to back up his shit.

Yeah I know he is and I usually just ignore him but shit man those comments about Duddy are uncalled for hell it is no secret he was not elite but the man was a guy who gave you your moneys worth and knew when he should call it a day....Too bad more fighters would not follow his suit...we would have less guys suffering later on after their career.....Plus Duddy has always shown to be a gentleman

    What's that sound?

Yes it's unmistakeable. I do believe it is the sound of at least on little baby girl crying.

I remember this site back in the day. The posters were very very knowledgeable about the sport, there was great banter, it was alot of fun. The new breed of poster just doesn't stack up.

No contest has obviously never read any of my posts. Because if she had she would see that the reason why i'm not just annoying, but very fucking annoying is because the very vast majority of the time I do back all my points up with a degree of knowledge not to mention evidence/links.

Now to answer the question 'what have I done?' Well hang on isn't this a boxing forum where people talk about boxing? I'm very flattered that you'd want to turn this into a forum about my life and achievements but I don't think others would share your enthusiasm. The other 2 problems with going down that route is that one it's taking the thread off topic and two you wouldn't believe me anyway. But why don't you tell us all what you've done Daxx? I myself couldn't give a shit but you never know someone reading this might give a damn about your life and I'm sure it wouldn't take you very long to list anything interesting that you've ever done. I'm guessing you judge others by your own standard and thats why you think everyone else has a bland, uneventful life.

Do I need to go into detail about Duddy? The guy has never set the world a light. He doesn't posses great knock out power, speed or technical ability. He's been talked up by the media as benig something but never really delivered the hype in the ring. Now he has realized that instead of trying to push on, he's hung em up and slumped off. Like I said, he's realized he's not as good as he was billed and now he's fucked off. And I wish a whole host of other boxers would do the same.

Now stop crying like a bitch.

Daxx is a very well respected boxing journalist, enthusiast and trainer.

To be honest I don't really understand your disdain for Duddy. He isn't or was he ever an exceptional fighter. But he was an honest fighter, who went in there and was torn asunder for our entertainment. He was hyped not because of his talents, but because of his marketability, a direct result of his likeable nature.
I also don't understand why you wish many more boxers would leave. Boxing would be a barren wasteland if it were just the impeccable elite fighters- remember they retire too.

He ain't respected by me. He don't seem to have a clue.

I'm into boxing not marketability and hype. I like to watch good skillful boxing. If you don't have it don't get in the ring and fight. Go and join the UFC.

    A clue about what?
He's not a bad fighter. Certainly not "A" level, but he's not a journeyman nor is he a no hoper. He's what I'd call a working fighter- a guy who can make a comfortable living off fight purses. If all working fighters put in the effort Duddy did, I feel it would actually benefit our sport and make it more entertaining.

As for your comment on the UFC, if any elite boxer went to the UFC they would be promptly taken down and beaten. Different sports my friend.

My god like i said in a previous post today. The new breed of poster here doesn't cut it against the people on here back in the old days.

My point about the ufc which majestically flew over your head was that if you want to get paid well for giving the public the entertainment of having your face smashed in go and join the UFC.

My enjoyment of boxing doesn't come from one guy getting mauled half to death (if it was I wouldn't watch boxing I'd watch UFC more) I like boxing for it's skill and tactical elements.

    Duddy was lacking.

The reason why the best fighters rarely fight each other is because they're is always some bum like Duddy that they go and smash to pieces and make a load of money out of it. If there was less of these fighters about chances are you'd see more interesting and evenly matched fights.

But you ain't interested in that you just want to see some clown get destroyed on national tv in a one sided battering.
