I'm sure Eddie Hearn said on monday over Twitter that purse bids were going out for Rees vs Murray as Rees is the mandatory for the Euro title...

For Murray, I think fighting either of these guys is a step back, he should now be having a shot at world level, if not a title, a world level opponent for a mandatory spot. Mitchell had his shot at a world title and blew it, Murray shouldn't have to go through Mitchell to get his day.

I actually think Mitchell will beat Murray though. Murray is ok if his opponent stands in front of him and fights as though they are stuck in a telephone box. If he fights someone quicker than he is (which I think Mitchell is) I think he will struggle and add to that Mitchells ability to fight on the outside like he did vs Prescott and I think you have the blueprint to beating Murray.

I'm glad this fight is being made though and I'd like to see Rees fight the winner too before any title shot. Marquez and co are a step too far for all 3 though IMO.

For the past year or so I've always picked John Murray to beat Kevin Mitchell but after seeing how poor Murray was in his last fight, as well as how easy he is to hit, I think Mitchell has a great chance of beating him.

If Mitchell can get back to the form against Prescott then he has a chance but if he starts fighting Murray he will lose badly.

If Mitchell has managed to drag himself off the patented Pablo Escobar nutritional programme that he indulged in for awhile after the Katsidis fight then I think he batters Murray to a comfortable UD. I've got to say I would love to see Murray put in with Rios, that has great fight as long as it lasts written all over it.

Brandon Rios would bulldoze through John Murray. I don't even think it would last four rounds.

I agree, hence why I said as long as it lasts

Plus, we would get weeks of eric telling us that Rios couldn't handle being in there with someone as tough as Murray

John Murray got found out in his last fight. Funny how one fight can alter your perception of a fighter. He is nowhere near world class level. That much is now obvious.

TBH, I've been saying that for years. I think people thought could be another Hatton, someone who has tough fights at domestic level who finally comes good, but I just can't see it, I don't think he's got anywhere near the skill or talent that Hatton had.

murray had an off night in his last fight

hatton had off nights, struggled against thaxton, murray blew thaxton away

noone believes murray will have the same success as hatton or has the same tallent

he is a good fighter tho with lots of assests

mitchell is a tough opponent for him, i think its a close fight but i think murray will come through it

Jon Thaxton was also 9 years older and bar a great KO against Melero hadn't looked up to much in quite some time.

I don't think Murray has lots of assets. He's got a decent chin, is tough & has good stamina. Good body puncher. Average speed, power, pretty poor footwork. I just don't see how handles himself against the likes of Guerrero or Rios.

I think Mitchell would have beaten Murray before Katsidis. If he's recovered from that fight, which i doubt, then i'd definitely pick him to beat Murray. Mitchell can move and box as well as fight.

No way Murray hits as hard as Katsidis. No way Mitchell will be under the same amount of mental pressure (Murray will be favourite). But has he recovered from Katsidis

Given the amount of white powder he's apparently shoved up his nose since he's probably forgotten about it

For my money, if the Mitchell who showed up for the Prescott fight is in the ring, Mitchell will win, but if the knob I paid £35 to go see at Upton Park turns up than Murray marches on towards getting beaten up by someone at world level.
