    Default Gennady Golovkiin

Is he the next great at middleweight? Here, is an article on his sparring session with Saul Alvarez for preparation for Alvarez's fight with Ryan Rhodes and Golovkin's fight with Kassim Ouma. Gym notes: Alvarez, Golovkin worth driving up a mountain to see | RingTV-

Article points out that in sparring he was way too much for Alvarez and was way too much for Alfredo Angulo. As an amatuer, he beat Andy Lee, Andre Dirrell, Lucian Bute, Matvey Korobov, and Yordanis Despaigne. That's not a bad foundation to have going into the professional ranks.

Yeah, I want to see this guy - I'd heard he knocked Bute out before turning pro.

This guy has an amazing amatuer record with victories over many big names but he's been making slow progess as a pro in terms of competition. It's not really his fault considering the fact that his management have been giving him issues but he better step up the competition real soon because he's too good not to. I think he's the real deal and I'd love to see him fight at least Marco Antonio Rubio in the near future.

    Golovkin is a killer.

Of course Golovkin is on another level compared with guys like Saul Alvarez and Angulo. Hopefully the WBA forces either Sturm or Hassan to fight against him. If he can beat Sturm he is the real deal and a fight with Martinez is inevitable.

I'll be honest, I don't feel he's much better as a pro than he was an amateur. Just as well he was such a fucking good amateur then

I want him to take on Rubio then beat the Sturm-Macklin winner. If HBO takes a chance on him they might just have a real marketable guy. Are there any Kazakh communities in the US? I think on a Euro level, there's a good fight brewing with N'Dam further down the line. I know a lot of people shit on him because he's French, but he's a good fighter in his last fight he beat Giovanni Lorenzo more convincingly than I thought Sturm or Sylvester did. Admittedly he got put on his arse, but I think they could be a decent match-up down the line. I'd favour Golovkin though, I think he's just too complete. Hell, he might make a very good fight with Pirog right now.

Watch him lose to Ouma in his next fight now

We're not all British on this board, Jaz. Remember our war of independence? French help poved decisive. Hah!

Truthfully, I wasn't super impressed with N'Dam's victory over Lorenzo. I actually thought the result should have been closer than the scorecards suggested. I bet Gennady takes him to school. Unfortunately, there aren't big Kazakh communities in the USA but there are big Russian communities. He has a marketable style in a way too. I'm surprised he hasn't been picked up more here so far. Hopefully, we'll see him against Sturm soon.

Oh c'mon!! No one likes the French!! Whether you're British, American, Italian, Spanish or German, they're internationally hated!

I actually thought the scorecards were fair only because Lorenzo throws so few punches that he makes Nikolai Valuev look like Manny Pacquiao. I thought he just couldn't cope with the quicker guy. Lorenzo is a hell of a waste because he's actually got decent power. Did you see his fights with Sturm & Sylvester?

I agree Golovkin would likely have him up but I think it's a good fight. It always is when one of the 239 WBA champs takes on another.
