The episode puts the 'no mas' incident into it's true context which is far more satisfying. You also see the blister which is horrendous, so basically Mosley was fighting with that thing swollen and then finally it ripped open. Not nice at all, but you have to wonder why he went into the biggest fight of the year with such a condition. Regardless, Mosley at no stage showed that he was there to win and blister or no blister it's hard to imagine that he would have fought differently at nigh on 40. The man's body is fading and to a lesser extent we saw it with Glenn Johnson today. These are still smart fighters, but their bodies are slowly decaying and so they should really bow out. I don't think it is going to be the norm to have top level boxers performing at the top in their 40's. Hearing Roy Jones Jr refer to Hopkins in today's fight and use that as a comparison as to whether he goes on or not annoyed me because Hopkins is Hopkins alone and he is the ONLY one performing well at his age and that is essentially because he is selecting smaller guys or low output fighters and of course using the smarts that he undoubtedly has. I am sure Mosley could look pretty good against the likes of Marquez or Guerrero, but it's just smoke and mirrors. Nobody at 40 is going to look good against Pac and so it really is on Pac to stop fighting cheats, pensioners and people coming in off of beatings.
That was a nasty blister! Looked painful.
Love these behind the scenes shows
I can't believe Mosley's girlfriend said something along the lines of Mosley being Pac's bitch. If ever there was a reason to smash a rice cooker then that is it. Mosley can't be having that said about him. It's bad enough with all the forums calling you a bitch without your Mrs doing it as well.
If my mrs called me a bitch i would of been like "oh bullshit.....im gonna beat down this motherfuckin midget right now, then she gonna make a sandwich"
meeh pac had the same sized blister on the 1st pac em fight and pac didnt quit like mosley. shane lost the motivation to fight... scared of pac? no, i dont think so.. mentally ruined by pac? yes.
Both series are good . There'd be no 360 if they hadn't started 24/7 . Always easier to improve on someone elses idea. But most of all I find it hilarious to hear guys say they'd die in the ring, then quit cause if a toe blister. These guys just aren't the same anymore . The sport has slidden cause even the best guys just aren't very good since they only fight once or twice a year maybe . And the football players and gang bangers in my neighborhood are way tougher. Shit I still remember Ronnie Lott cutting the tip of his finger off at halftime of the super bowl just to win. I've also had a friend shot in the foot and still try and hobble over and fight the guy. Boxing just ain't the same . And the media has no problem exposing the problem . They're all tougher than me though so whatever I guess really
Mosley didn't quit you buffoon. There's reportedly a moment in the 2nd Pac-JMM fight, where Manny asks Roach to stop the fight. Does this make him a quitter? No, because he still went back out there. Even the bravest of warriors need someone to push them when they're feeling shit. If they'd stayed on their stool, call them a quitter. If they get back out there, recognize them for being a champion.
Also on the mentally ruined thing, I've said before I can pinpoint the moment Mosley got ruined. It's with 1:03 remaining of the 7th round of the Mayweather fight. You see something change in Mosley after he takes a combination & after that he's just surviving. He carried it into the Mora fight & the Pacquiao fight where it got exposed by a much harder puncher. I guess once that self-belief goes, it's time to hang em up.
Anyway back to the episode, it was by far the best of this series. In all honesty, this apart, I've found this very underwhelming particularly after the Pacquiao-Margarito 24/7 which was great & the Super Six Fight Camps. I'd let Shane's woman get away with it though, she's less screechy than Rachel Cordingley & personally I think she's hotter.
