Thread: Marcos Maidana v. Paul McCloskey

In the fall, in Northern Ireland. Good for McCloskey in that his performance against Khan earned him another good pay day; bad for McCloskey that it has to come against Maidana.

I can't believe this will happen unless they offer Maidana silly sums. McCloskey did nowhere near enough in the Khan fight to earn a shot against Maidana. I take it Audley's performance against Haye will get him a shot at Vitali now

Good matchmaking if it happens. Matchroom/Eddie Hearn have really got the boxing bug back.

I can see McCloskey fiddling his way to a PTS win at home. He's smart enough to dodge Maidana's crude stuff and only needs a few good taps here and there to have the crowd roaring him home.

This fight shouldn't and won't happen. McCloskey has been sounding desperate the past month or so. Calling out every fighter at 140lbs on twitter. He doesn't deserve to share a ring with the top guys at 140lbs. European fighter at best. Maidana has bigger fish to fry, especially with Guerrero wanting to fight him. No one, except the blinkered Irish, want to see McCloskey vs Maidana.

I think it's a good fight to make, Maidana has kinda fought everyone else, now his picking up everyone else's opponents i guess? Keeps the game rolling.

McClousky has a good chance, hes hard to hit and maidana is very crude

I love twitter me. Use it solely for tweeting about boxing and news. Been banned by David Haye, Amir Khan, Floyd Mayweather, Paul McCloskey and Carl Froch though. They don't like 'bantz'.

Yeah. For so called tough guys they sure do cry when you give them a little abuse. Paul Malignaggi on the other hand gives as good as he gets. I like Paulie.

I can't believe the fight was negotiated over Twitter, but it should be a decent fight, but I worry for Paul in this one, Maidana can bang, all be he's one dimensional, but the lad can hit.

I think Maidana is right to target a UK fighter, his UK stock is huge right now and if he knocks out a few UK fighters, he'll be ranked up there with Pacquiau in the eyes of the average Joe over here.

Plus what better way to try lure Khan out than by doing a better job on Khans last opponent.

I think it's a good match up for both.

The fight won't happen. It's another thing a fighter saying he'll fight someone over twitter, it's a different story the fighter's management/promote/HBO agreeing to it. The fight won't happen and I, for one, am glad. Fuck McCloskey. Stick to European level 'Dudey'.

Why cant M&M get a fight with Bradley?

Good if Paul can pull this off and he deserves it as age is not on his side.
