Default Nate Marquardt fails Medical and cut from the UFC

Dana White: Marquardt released by the UFC - MMA News

He was supposed to fight Rick Story but has now been pulled from the event and cut from the UFC. Some common rumours are disease, bad injury, steroids/PEDs,was way off weight since he was coming down a weight division. But what ever it was, it was bad enough for Dana White to cut him from the UFC on the spot so Id say its something that definitely could of been avoided but wasnt and Nates at fault for it.

I'd go with either the roids issue or something mean demeanor outside the ring. I don't see what else could put a guy not only off an event but as well plainly off the UFC.

Apparently it was something the comission was aware of weeks ago and so was Dana, they were hoping whatever it was would be ready to go and cleared. So its not roids or PEDs coz they have also come out and said he didnt fail a drug test. Even if he did the results wouldnt be back this early, theyd take weeks to come back eg when Thiago Silva got busted for submitting an 'inhuman' urine sample, the fight happened against Brandon Vera and we didnt find out until weeks later that he cheated.

Testosterone replacement therapy apparently. He couldn't provide proper proof that it was legally approved by a doctor. He was aware of everything needed by the day of the weigh in but couldn't prvide it so he was fired.

I just listened to his interview on The MMA Hour, he said he started TRT before his last fight (Miller in New Jersey), but the commission wanted him to stop treatment after the fight for several weeks and have several blood tests to verify that he was a legitimate candidate for TRT, which he said he did and is. By the time he got the last blood test back, it was only three weeks prior to the Story fight. So he said his doc gave a big dose of testosterone at the start of his treatment, this caused him to test too high, up to and including the day before the fight, but he said his levels were steadily dropping to normal. He got pulled from the fight because of this, then fired via twitter. He also claims that his levels were near the bottom end of normal on the night of the fight, almost half of what it was just 24 hours prior. He said his suspension should be lifted tomorrow after a commission meeting. He said he was honest with the commission and the UFC up front because, even though he would've tested within the range of normal after the fight, the treatment would still've showed up in his test, leadin to more problems.

The show is on iTunes, search for MMA Hour, it's todays episode, the interview is the whole first hour of the show.

The article I read said he had submitted an exception to policy for the last fight. Was the commission not going to except it this time? did he not submit it? This is a very convaluted issue.
