Default Pacquiao vs Marquez III- fight to use instant replay

The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) has approved the use of the instant replay in Pacquiao’s 12-round showdown with Marquez on November 12 for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight crown.

NAC executive director Keith Kizer said the instant replay is going to assure the decision made by the referee will not be controversial like in their first two meetings.

The instant replay rule will also be used in professional unarmed combat sports like boxing, kickboxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) in Nevada State.

The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) has now utilized instant replay following other major sports in North America. I hope improvement on Drug Testing is not far off from happening.

I guess I didn't realize that Pacquiao vs. Marquez III was a done deal yet, that's good news.

As far as the instant replay, I don't think I know enough about how it works yet, to give an intelligent opinion. In regards to using it in the trilogy, I don't think it will be necessary or needed, Pacquiao is going to crush Marquez, this time it's not going to a decision.

unarmed combatant shall be determined to have lost the contest via technical knockout.

    (b) If the determination is made that the injury was the result of a foul, it must be
determined whether the foul was intentional or accidental.

    NAC 467.698; or

    (2) If deemed accidental, the outcome of the contest shall be determined in accord with
    NAC 467.702 or 467.7966.

    the floor [.] ; or
    (c) The unarmed combatant would have fallen to the floor but was held up by the ropes.

    2. A referee may count an unarmed combatant out if the unarmed combatant is on the floor

They gave the UFC judges monitors so they could score more effectively as due to the cage its hard to see certain parts of the octagon. I see this as being a good idea, we have technology, we should take advantage of it.

Great!!! Leaving nothing to chance!Just thinking of the dubious knockdown scored vs PAC against Barrera, the cut suffered by PAC vs Morales from a butt but the ref said from a punch, Mosley's knockdown vs PAC (thank God the judges didnt score it).

If they will implement new things into boxing to make fights more fair then how about implement a more rigid blood/urine/etc. tests like the random blood tests (olympic style)?

I don't think there had been any objection from the Pac fans with regards to having a more rigid blood/urine test. Like what Pavlik said, it should apply to everyone and implemented by the commission. The sooner they have that done, the better for the sport.

It won't be controversial because Marquez is now way passed his best, whilst Pac is in the latter stages of his 'peak'. Marquez is a spent force at this point, and that, of course, is why Roach has made this fight now. It's sickening that when Pac wins this time round, the Pac-tards will be on here screaming, frothing at the mouth about how Manny Pac finally got justice after he was unfairly robbed of a win against Marquez during their first fight. At least Ortiz is an up-and-comer, with both power, youth and technical ability on his side, aside from the fact that, as far as I know, he'll be fighting at a comfortable weight. He will still be outclassed, but at least it is a fair fight, as much as any fight is fair. But this fight being made at 147? Might as well put chains around his ankles. Marquez vs Pac at 125/129 were good, competitive fights, but we saw what happened to Marquez when he weighed in at 146 against Mayweather, he doesn't carry the weight well, and he's closer to 40 than 30, having been in a lot of wars. This will not be competitive, and Roach knows it - it's the only reason this fight has been made. Absolutely pathetic. Roach/Pac are getting more and more annoying as time goes on. If you're just gonna pick fights you KNOW you'll win, why bother? Just go and play politician ffs.
