Default Can Tarver become the cruiserweight king?

Following his emphatic demolition of Danny Green does Tarver have a realistic shot of going on to win titles as a cruiser?

    I say YES!

The cruiserweight division imo has long been complete shit and I see nobody there I would confidently pick over Tarver.

I'd love to see him take on Lebedev and Marco Huck. I really think he can take them.

I've always been a closet fan so I'd like to see him to it, and rubber stamp his entry into the Hall of Fame.

Who knows, maybe even a rematch with B Hop down the line too.

I have yet to see his performance against Green but i'm happy for him.

One thing i do know though is that Tarver should stay away from Hopkins.

The Hopkins fight was so one sided. Hopkins is a really bad matchup for him.

Hopefully he faces the other cruiserweights like Cunningham also.

I think he can and I think he can take Hopkins in a rematch at CW too. He's a very smart fighter and has grown on me a lot over the years. It's a shame he is so old now, but it doesn't seem to be stopping him.

Do you/anyone think, Hopkins is licking his chops? You talking legacy!?! If B-Hop win the CW title? He will be with no question, as I think he already is, ATG!!!

He looke very sharp against Green, a level above. I cant see anyone at CW beating him, well not easily anyway. I think he could have some good scraps with smaller heavys like Adamek and Haye too.

If Adamek win, you/anyone think Tarver will chase that fight? He once said he will become a heavyweight champ.

What I saw in this fight is Green got hurt a couple of times in the first and it made him hesitant and slowed him down. This allowed Tarver to get in the fight. I think in about the 7th Tarver started slowing and Green was coming back in to it. Tarver got back in to it because Green slowed again. The final punches that Tarver threw we slow and forced, if he hadnt have got the stoppage he would have been very tired.

Im not sure how good Green is. He was beaten fairly easy by that idiot Mundine. I think that Tarver hu him almost at will is good as Green does have a good chin. I just think Green had a loss coming as soon as he fought anyone decent. Tarver will struggle against anyone who doesnt get hit as easy and has a good output. Look at the Dawson fight. Still a good win for him here though.

Wait for Haye to call him up to heavy now....

I think outside of Cunningham and Huck, Tarver has a good shot against anyone. He brings a name to the division though, which is good for it.

I just finished watching a tapedelay of this fight about 15 mins ago, I was impressed by Tarver, although on the other hand Green is slow and not so technically gifted ATALL and he managed to land some decent rights on Tarver, so maybe against someone not as shit as Green he wouldn't look so hot. Not sure how he deals with the pressure of Huck. Cunningham is great I think, but SERIOUSLY needs to step it up again already. Has he fought anyone with a pulse since the Adamek war?

Wow, just watched the fight and what a great performance from Tarver. I thought he might nick it on points if he could take Greens power but no way did I see him getting the KO. I'd give him a good shout against anyone at the weight.

It will have certainly caught Hopkins attention. The guy is about legacy at this point, I'm sure the money don't hurt either though.

I'd love to see Tarver in there against Lateef Kayode or Steve Cunningham.

I'm glad to hear Tarver smashed Danny Greene.

Fuck Greene for getting a premature, but probably inevitable, stoppage over a totally shot Roy Jones.

And fuck him for winning a fixed fight against Paul Briggs.

Tarver could be THE MAN at cruiser now. Good for him.

I think you know exactly how good Green is, you are just being very polite .

You're right in also hinting that to rate Tarver too much off of this fight wont paint the true picture.
