Those comments tend to be about fighters who deserve it imo. Although there is a tonne of bias against Brit fighters. But I think you grocely overrate British fighters, even if I do applaud your patriotism!

Generally, if you suck or green stop bigging yourself up in to something you're not, before you've earned it then we'll stop tearing you a new one.

I think thats it. Fans who have stuck around for any length of time know when they are being fed a pile of crap. History repeats itself.

Being a boxing fan is a true acid test of the stomach.

Most fans can't even comprehend that it actually hurts when you get punched. That it's actually nerve-wracking when someone wants to beat the fuck out of you.

Every other sport you can bottle it and lose numerous times and still come away looking great. Have one bad night in boxing and nobody will ever let you forget.

Thats huge in it. The individuality of it as opposed to a team focus, surrounding players etc. There is but one participant for cause and effect, or the ref, to praise or fault. Many shit plays occur in other team sports daily but are not always the determining factor in its outcome. If you get ko'd there is no one to take your position while your broken arse is carried back to the locker room.

It's mostly just the Internet/ forum mindset.

Why do nearly every YouTube clip comments section end up filled with people telling each other they suck or racist stuff. It's the joy of keyboard warriors.

People seem to be much happier slagging stuff off instead of praising it.

I don't find boxing fans to be any more or less critical that hardcore fans of other sports.

I also post on a hockey forum and people are pretty much the same over there.

Because Wolak-Rodriques is on Friday Night Fights and Alexander/Bradley, Khan/Judah, Klitschko/Haye, Pacquiao/Mosley are on the big stage. Because Pacquiao and Mayweather won't fight. Because when you put in the name of a hard punching southpaw as an opponent you don't get the courtesy of the a return phone call from the promoter. Because nobody knows who is champ of what and a lot of divisions don't have champions (what is a super champion anyway).

    That's why.

I live in the Chicagoland area and I listen to 670AM sports talk radio everyday. 90% of what is said is negative and degrading to a team or particular individual. Thats just how us humans percieve things i guess. We're just a bunch of negative assholes.

Haters Gonna hate... But how many would get in the ring with them?

Its easy to hate on a fighter, if they're well established you can say they don't deserve it, if they are new you can say they are unproven, If they are bigging themselves up you can call them cocky, if they lose you can say they are punching beyond their division,

or just respect fighters as the fighters they are, and if you think someone is shit, call the out, get in the ring and prove you're better...

Its a sport thing in general,
If a footballer plays well hes the next pele, if he misses a pentally in the next game hes shit,
Same in most sports same in boxing......
People are quick to cruisfy boxers whi have a bad fight,
David haye did wonders as a cruiser, then won 4 or 5 hw bouts in good fashion, he then loses and is deemed a no-hoper?! ok he was dissapionting against wlad and there was no need 4the little toe excuse! but he still went 12 rounds with probley the best in the division and took a solid heavy jab all night without getting ko'd, no shame in that

the difference is even if a fighter performs well ... its often not a case of that performance being lauded as much as "well he hasnt though this name or that name yet" as fans we tend to never be content
