Default Bernard Hopkins v Chad Dawson

I do not think Bernard Hopkins will beat Chad Dawson and feel that if he pulls the victory then this will be an even greater feat than beating Pascal. Dawson was unlucky to lose against Pascal in the first place, he has twice beaten Johnson and Tarver as well as being avoided by Hopkins. Chad has all the attributes to beat Hopkins, size, height and youth and think that if Hopkins wins this then he really is a remarkable and great fighter.

Even more. Just do not see him in the Roy Jones bracket.

Hopkins is up there with Roy Jones Jr.

I think Hopkins takes him. Hopkins didn't avoid Dawson, who was going sideways, cruising in there and leaving much to be desired and needing to beat Johnson and Tarver twice to beat them convincingly I think. Meanwhile Hopkins cements history. Wise I'd say. Dawson is changing his style, trying to be more assertive and stand taller with Manny. I believe its the wrong guy to experiment with in Hopkins and Dawson will be stuck between styles and lose tempo and fall into a sharp shooting match where Hopkins pulls away.

Bernard will never surpass Roy Jones in the ATG ranking..

Anyway, this fight all depends on which Dawson shows up.. If he gets busy and fights with more conviction, he can win... But if the gunshy chad shows up, he'll get eaten alive...

If Dawson turns up with the right mindset I think he beats Hopkins, but if he keeps on fighting like he has recently then he is in for a long night. Physically he is younger, bigger and stronger than Hopkins, but he cannot fight gun shy nor get too lazy or careless.

Dawson can be very good, but he sometimes falls asleep in his fights.

Dawson can win only one way, he has to concentrate and be consistent because Bernard is the king of illusions. It starts during the prefight interviews and ends when his opponent is left scratching his head saying,"What happened?"

I think Hopkins really makes a statement in this fight in the way he dominates a top fighter.

Some are picking Dawson to win but styles make fights and Dawsons is made for Hopkins. Although on paper its a close fight I reckon we could see another 12 round landslide. Bad Chad just wont be able to pick up the points against the ring master and after a couple rounds will become fozen and unable to pul the trigger at all. Weve sen him struggle in his last two fights and he is yet to face the most experienced opponent of his career who will frustrate him, make him miss and make him pay.

Hopkins W12 is a pretty safe bet.

I haven't made my mind yet. Normally I'd say Dawson speed, size and power wise but the old man kind of intimidates me andI promised myself that I'd never cast a vote against him when the odds seem to be against him in a reasonable measure... Now Dawson is trained by Manny, that's also to be considered.

I haven't made my mind yet, it's a tough one because Hopkins is Hopkins, really.

I thought Chad Dawson ate quite a few right hand leads from Adrian Diaconu, and was even stunned a few times. Plus Chad Dawson was lazy in that fight aswell, i was big fan of Chad Dawson but he's let me down a few times recently.

He left it way too late vs Jean Pascal, and could of made a statement vs Adrian Diaconu and didn't.

When he lets his hands go he looks pretty impressive, but the thing is he hasn't in quite awhile. And is always too lazy and relaxed in the ring he needs more fire, i see Chad Dawson having alot of problems with B-Hop.

And if he comes into the ring like he did vs Pascal, Diaconu, then i see him losing.

Dawson wasnt unlucky to lose the Pascal fight. He lost it because hes not a great fighter. A great fighter would have recognised they needed to up the pace or find a stoppage. They would have found a way to win. Like Toney v Nunn. Dawson doesnt have it in him to work hard.

Hopkins will beat him and so would Froch and a lot of other fighters.

I can't believe they put this stinker of a fight on HBO PPV, if I can find a stream i'll watch it, but Dawson vs. Hopkins figures to be snoozer, October 15th.
