Default K1 fighter Badr Hari making a transition to Boxing.. Nazim Richardson training him

I dont know much about MMA, K-1 or any of that non-boxing shit but from what ive seen of Badr, this guy is the truth.. He has better than average boxing ability for a kickboxer and at 6"6, his movement is very fluid and throws good variety of punches. He started training with nazim and nazim can't complement him enough. He think Hari can make noise in the HW division and i agree with him..
Just looking at how shitty today's divsion is, I think Hari has more than enough tools to make a name for himself.

What are your thoughts on Hari?

I have seen him fight a little and he is easily one of the better K1 fighters so this announcement suprises me a little. He is known for his skills and his crappy attitude/sportmanship. If you want to see him get ktfo youtube "peter graham rolling thunder"for one of the better ko's u will see.

Hari is a tall, lanky guy but he has BIG one punch KO power.

He doesn't have the best discipline, however. He tends to fold when things aren't going his way.

I don't think we'll hear much about him.

He is a good fighter and I think he will do ok but dont know if he will make top ten in the devision he fights in. I love K1. Wish they showed it over here in the UK.
I watch MMA, boxing and K1. They all have there good and bad points.

    Good points:

boxing because they have the best athletes out of the three sports (probably because it has the most money poured into it).

MMA because it is the way you would have to fight one on one in a real situation (cant say no holding or kicking when in a real fight).

K1 because it is the version of MMA that usually always has good fights.

    Bad points:

Boxing because you can get away with not getting hit if you turn around, constantly put your head down which you would not get away with in the other sports. A knee to the head if you bend down, a rear naked choke if you turn your back.

MMA because alot of the time one opponent is happy just holding the other boxer down without going for submission and going for a cheap win. The worst fight you could watch out of any three of the sports.

K1 because out of the three sports you have the least skilled people because there is not as much money in it.

Badr Hari is a vicious striker and one of the very best in K-1. He knocked out my boy Alistair Overeem before.

That said, I don't know how well he can do in boxing without using his great kicks. And he has been Ko'd himself a few times, and as others have said he has a piss poor attitude. He's a mean poor sportsman type of fucker.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

hari is much chunkier now...for those who like stats....hari lost to schilt, ignashov twatted him out.

I don't think Hari will have the chin for the heavyweight scene. He'll be a foreign matt skelton.

Ignashov due to drink, surgery and a number of factors is not the fighter he was.

K-1 is coming to the US for two events this year. A qualifying tournament in Los Angeles then the World Grand Prix Final in New York at the end of the year. If he were to win the Grand Prix Final in New York it would certainly raise his profile in the US and make a move to Boxing more marketable/profitable.

I like K-1 personally so I wouldn't mind if he stayed there.

I like K-1 too, I watched it quite a bit back in the days of Hoost, Bonjasky and those guys. Kickboxing is fun to watch.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

    I remember watching this live

Looks like he's going to continue boxing along with K-1.

Badr Hari Wants to Become the K-1 World Grand Prix Champion! | Reuters

The new organization K-1 Global Limited President, Mr. Mike Kim, announced today they have signed one of the biggest fighters in the world, Badr Hari, to fight for a chance to become the 2012 K-1 World Grand Prix Champion in New York in December.

Badr Hari is currently training in the USA with the world-famous maker of champions, Naazim Richardson. Hari’s goal is to become a World Boxing Champion within three years.

Hari stated he’s excited about training with Richardson: “I have just finished the first six weeks of intensive training, including a high altitude training camp in California. I am in great shape and we have made a plan for the next three years, leading to the ultimate goal... becoming the world heavyweight champion in boxing. The past weeks we’ve been working mostly on my technique as a boxer.”

Richardson added he believes in Hari’s incredible potential: “Every century, a number of unique talents are born. Those talents have the capacity to make it to the absolute top of the world. Badr is one of those unique talents. He has the perfect fighting mentality, an amazing reach, an incredible punch, and technically it’s looking great. On top of that, his physique works to his advantage. He is the ultimate fighting machine. I support Badr's wish to take one more shot at the K-1 World Grand Prix Title. It's also his way of showing respect to the sport of kickboxing.

“This move will not interfere with our training program and says everything about his unique status in the world. No matter where in the world, everyone wants to see Badr fight. He will probably be the first martial artist in the world who will be the greatest in multiple disciplines.”

Badr Hari commented: “They (K-1) have gone far in persuading me to show the world who is currently the best kickboxer on the planet. I think this is a beautiful challenge. At the same time, I will continue my planned route, with full enthusiasm, to become the world champion in boxing. I would love to retire internationally as the K-1 World Grand Prix champion. That's a title that's not yet on my record. K-1 has convinced me to say yes to their proposal of fighting one last time on the international stage.”

Mr. Mike Kim, president of K-1 Global Limited, is proud to have Badr Hari fight for K-1 remarking: “This was one of our biggest wishes. He is the biggest and most sensational fighter in the world. The attention and exposure will be huge and everybody wants to see him fight one more time at the international stage.”

Hari's first fight will take place on May 27 in Madrid, Spain. If he wins, he will also participate in the final qualifications in October in Asia and the K-1 World Grand Prix Final in New York in December. Hari is convinced he will strap the belt around his waist in December, saying, “It's a beautiful thought to show all my fans in the world one more time who the best K-1 fighter is.”
