    Default Cotto/Margo II

I'm really looking forward to this fight. AND puttin Pac/JMM III in the rear view (it was a good fight, but the post fight squabble was predictable and boring)

At any rate, I've got quite a few casual fan/friends into this one and should be able to hold a pretty good turn out at mi casa. The undercards aren't the best matchups available, but worth tuning in early for.

    How will you be watching?
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

If DIRECTV charges about $50, i'll buy the PPV and watch it at home, if not i'll be hunting a stream.

BTW, I believe the undercard, while not great, is pretty solid:

At New York (HBO PPV): Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito, rematch, 12 rounds, for Cotto's WBA junior middleweight title; Brandon Rios vs. John Murray, 12 rounds, for Rios' WBA "regular" lightweight title; Pawel Wolak vs. Delvin Rodriguez, rematch, 10 rounds, junior middleweights; Mike Jones vs. Sebastian Lujan, 12 rounds, IBF welterweight eliminator.

P.S. I agree that all the uproar over Pac/JMM III is terminally boring, the only thing of interest to me is not who "really" won the fight, but why Pacquiao performed so poorly after looking so great in his 7 previous fights.

I couldn't give a fuck less that Marquez lost the decision and have no interest in getting into petty bitching with histrionic clowns over what the outcome should have been, or the "injustice" that was allegedly done. By most accounts it was a close fight, get over it.

This PPV is the same price as PAC-JMM III, $54.95 plus $10 extra for HD on Directv.

I'd like to order the PPV, but I'm not going to pay $130 over the course of 3 weeks for PPVs.

I also think Margarito is 110% shot and that there's a chance he won't be as competitive as some people think.

Margo didn't look too good/healthy in that face to face interview, I think Cotto wrecks him this time, which would be fun to see, but it definitely ain't worth $64.95 in HD. Depending on how I feel the week of the fight I may still buy it, but I kinda doubt it, that's too much for this card.

My thoughts on Margo is he's just picking up one big final payday.

if theres any justice in the world Cotto gets his redemption in style. First fight was awesome..with both fighters on the slide we might even see a war of attrition..in which i wouldn't favour cotto. I think and hope cotto still has enough of his wits about him to get the job done

At my home. My friend usually buys the big PPVs for boxing and MMA and has a small get together, but he was kind of soured by it with the Floyd and then the Manny fight. He said it wasn't worth it to buy anymore boxing PPVs. So I told him this one's on me, so I'm going to order it. He'll bring the food instead.

I'm kind of amped for this fight. With the story lines and all.

I'm interested to see this not only because of the back story of hand wraps, but I'll be watching Margarito closely. The one thing that's always kind of amazed me about Margarito is his ability to take a punch. I think the man has (or had) one of the best chins in boxing. The man has taken flush shots from Cintron (who while not an elite championship fighter, is a very hard puncher when it lands), Cotto and the like. And just kept walking through them. I know this wasn't the case with Manny, but Cotto had issues with Manny as well. I'm particularly intersted to see what happens if it gets to round 6 and Cotto has landed some solid shots...and Margarito is still standing there and backing him up. Hopefully this is an exciting one. Can't see why it wouldn't bee.

Margarito has a really fucked up face now. His left eye looks lazy and wide. It is almost like he is auditioning for a role in a Pirates of the Caribbean film. I think Margarito has a style that is all wrong for Cotto, but something about that eye makes me feel weird. It is too open whilst the other is opening and closing like normal. That eye took a pounding, so I wonder if it is really up to scratch.

As for Mars Ax, if you really have no issues with an 8-4 Manny scorecard, then you really have no respect for the sport yourself. It is the kind of card that everybody should be angry about. It isn't just that Marquez lost, but that he was seemingly adrift even going into the championship rounds. It wasn't 'by all accounts' a close fight but if it makes you feel better to think so then fair enough. Polls do suggest otherwise though.

But not to derail the thread I encourage others to concentrate on Cotto/Margarito 2. That was me taking slight umbrage with what I felt to be some unfair comments.

Killer no offense but I COMPLETELY disagree about the undercard. Mars has it right. Wolak v. Rodriguez II will be nothing if not a war. Rios is always fun to watch. Jones v. Lujun should be fun too because Lujan has the potential to make Jones scrap.

Sweet Pea - why do you think that? I thought if the Margarito that showed up the the Pacquiao fight shows up against Cotto, Cotto is in trouble. However, that fight may have taken a lot out of him.
