    Default Agbeko-Mares II...fight thread

With all the talk of Cotto-Margs this saturday i think we all forgot about the other rematch taking place. I think as long as Mares doesn't get himself DQ'd he will get the win. What are your thoughts on this one?

I like both guys but I think Mares wins this one too, decision but I also see the potential for a late stoppage

Both guys are great ambassadors for the sport, so I'll be happy as long as we get a good fight

I think Agbeko comes out angry and motivated and either takes Mares out b/w rds 6 -9 or gets overly agressive and gets stopped himself. I don't see a decision taking place.

    Thumbs up Re: Agbeko-Mares II

Thanks for the reminder MMASUX, i'd forgotten all about this card on Showtime saturday, Moreno vs. Vic Darchinyan should be worth watching on the undercard.

At Anaheim, Calif. (Showtime): Abner Mares vs. Joseph Agbeko, rematch, 12 rounds, for Mares' IBF bantamweight title; Anselmo Moreno vs. Vic Darchinyan, 12 rounds, for Moreno's WBA bantamweight title

In Re: Agbeko-Mares II, Mares must have willfully and/or blatantly hit Agbeko in the nuts at least a dozen times. I don't ever recall seeing a fight with this many low blows, where there wasn't a DQ, and the ref seemed to be oblivious to what was going on.

Mares is a fucking dirty fighter, and I hope this time there's a competent ref, and Agbeko beats the living shit out of him.

As long as Agbeko gets going right from the start and has that jab in Mares face I honestly think he's to cagey and effective for Mares in the late rounds this time and he takes a dec. Also Mares not going blatant Loraina Bobbit or being awarded phantom kd's would be nice too.

Since there is no other thread for this, i figured might as well make this the fight thread. I know a lot of people will not be paying for the Cotto/Margs PPV so they will be watching this one.

Sounds good, maybe we can get one of our wonderful mods to sticky this thread. (hint hint)

I plan to watch Cotto/Margo II on a stream, but I get Showtime on Cable, so i'll be watching both.

Alright, here we go with the Showtime card, 1st up, Anselmo Moreno vs. Vic Darchinyan, for Moreno's WBA bantamweight title, both fighters in the ring.

I'd like to see Vic take this one..

Vic looking good so far, putting some hurt on Moreno, but Moreno is holding his own, I don't think this one will go 12.
