Duran's the No 1 lightweight ever IMO, no way could Mayweather live with him at 135. The Duran that beat SRL at 147, nearly a stone above his best weight, beat an all time great Welter and would have beaten just about any Welter you care to name on that night, Mayweather included. Past his prime and at middleweight, nearly 2 stone above his best weight, he was leading on the cards against Hagler, an all time great Middleweight in his prime before fading and losing the last couple of rounds. If he'd won either of those rounds he would have beaten Hagler, how do you think Mayweather would have done against a prime Hagler.?

Leonard / Mayweather at 147 would be interesting. I'd favour Leonard, he had it all at Welter, including one punch KO power.

I agree Hearns would be a nightmare for Mayweather.

I don't think people understand, not only was Roberto Duran the greatest lightweight ever....he was one of the greatest pound for pound boxers OF ALL-TIME.

If Jose Luis Castillo can trouble Floyd, if Ricky Hatton can last 11, if Mosley and Judah can hurt him....then you've got to expect at any weight Duran gives Floyd the fight of his life!

Ray Leonard could match Floyd's speed and Ray could brawl too...I think it would be a very interesting matchup.

Hearns was just a deadly weapon and with his jab and huge right cross, I'm not certain how Floyd lives with that over 12-15 rounds.

The problem Floyd has is Hearns, Duran, and Leonard were all in the same era...Floyd hasn't had that luxury (or setback) to add or subtract from his career.

I'm going to go and look and some fights of Duran. But why is people saying Floyd has no chance at 135? I thought it was the best Floyd vs the best Duran? Saying that, no one is giving Duran a chance at 147. Why? Is Floyd that much better at 147? Or Duran didn't carry weight that good? Was Floyd on the rise at 135 and not yet peaked? Is thats why Duran will beat him? Let's just say they fought at 140. Who wins?

I think Duran has him at any weight to be honest it's just more of a certainty at 135 as Duran is the greatest lightweight of all time.

Roberto Duran's record at 135: 62-1 the lone loss being a decision loss to Esteban De Jesus whom he later stopped twice. Duran had 12 successful title defenses at 135 as well

Thats a load of shit just wanting to use a record at a certain weight he lost 16 times and got knocked the fuck out 4 times, ok he had over 100 wins but floyd would kick his ass floyd has to much class for duran.

...I don't think "class" is something Floyd has an abundance of

He's very skilled and talented, but Roberto Duran was also a phenomenal talent and in one of the deeper eras in boxing history as well.

At WW I'd take Hearns and SRL over Floyd by KO and give Floyd a SD victory over Duran.

You know, different fighters perform differently at different weight classes. Duran happened to be a total beast at 135 and though he did well later, it doesn't compare to what he did t 135.

At 135, Duran mangles floyd off his shoulder, nothing less. In higher weight class, I am not as sure though.

One or two, need to put there brain's in gear?
The 80's, was by far one of the best time's in boxing,
    great champion's,far better than today.
Floyd great champ for today, back then he would have
been very lucky to win one title.
The great's in the 80's, would be way to much for
    today's so called super star's.?
