    Default What rules to follow?

I was considering the Khan-Peterson fight after reading an article on it and it made me wonder, what rules apply to that fight? If the fight is for a boxing associations's belt, e.g. WBA/IBF, do their rules apply? What if the fight is a unifying fight? Do the rules of the boxing commission in the location of the fight apply? Do the parties agree beforehand on what rules apply? Is there a set rule in place to determine which rules apply of the above-mentioned options?

For example, here is the District of Columbia's rules where that fight was held: http://www.asisvcs.com/publications/pdf/670972.pdf

Here are the Association of Boxing Commissions rules: http://www.abcboxing.com/documents/A...GUIDELINES.pdf

Are all the rules the same?
