Default Fighters touhing gloves during and between rounds...

So this usually happens when there is a foul or occasionally when a round ends out of habit, but I also have noticed on a few fights that fighters touch and want to touch gloves more often when they are getting owned.

A saw it alot on the Mayweather - Mosley fight after Mosley started getting beat to the punch and clocked a few times. Then Shane did the same thing in the Pacman fight after the knockdown.

Then Victor Ortiz did the same thing with Floyd and well he paid for it pretty quickly.

I know there are more examples if I do the research but has any else noticed anything like this? If so which fights?

The touching of gloves all the time in the Mayweather & Pacquiao fights from Mosley annoyed the hell out of me. Yes touch gloves at the end of each round or before each round starts as a sign of respect or when a low blow is landed or a head butt but no more than that is too much. It was as if Mosley was touching gloves all the time as if to say lets be friends please go easy on me and it hurts me to say that because I am a massive Mosley fan but where was his warrior instinct in them fights?

I hate when they do it, Floyd did the right thing and everyone should punch them in the face for doing it.

Yeah I was a big Mosley fan but have lost respect for him in his last few fights. The Margarito fight was his swansong. Since then he has just wanted the money without giving it the effort. Prime Mosley would never beg for someone to go easy on him but thats how it looked last time. Now he has got a fight with Alvarez and I bet he does the same in that one.

I remeber Eubank offering a glove to Benn, Nigel obliged and Eubank took a cheap shot. Benn mustve been embrassed by that.

Nas tried to touch gloves with Barrera after he just got his head rammed into the turnbuckle Barrera ignored it and carried on putting a beating on him.

I recently rewatched Mosley v Margarito and was about to make a similar thread. In that fight Margarito was getting owned and both fighters touched gloves every round, it's something I haven't noticed Margarito do before so it was maybe because he was getting beat up.
Amir Khan wanted to touch gloves with Maidana and Peterson after the pressure started to get to him. Alot of fighters want to touch gloves or start to complain at every little incident when they start losing a fight. Zab Judah is a good example of some one who complains and fakes.

Maybe its just some international sign from the weaker fighter telling the stronger fighter "I acknowledge that you are better fighter now please stop beating my ass"

Glove touchings are done twice. Once before the first bell and at the end. Anything in between is fair game. Any dude who wants to get all touchy touchy during a manly boxing match deserves to be cold cocked even if that shot happens to be a sucker punch.

only time IMO that it's understandable for a fighter to touch gloves other than the start and end of a fight is if A) there was an accidental foul and basically trying to squash it or B) it's a close hard fight or round and you just do a tap to acknowledge or give props to each other for a tough round, I've seen it in a couple of even high pace fights

Remember Camacho refusing to touch gloves in the last round against Haugan and lost the fight because of the ref took a point away from him. Crazy.

This dude in front of me is trying to take my head off, dude wants to take my livelyhood... I could even die because of this guy.. There is no way and no time for me to give my opponent props for doing a job on me.

I agree that a light tap is cool in a case of an accident foul but i think it's ridiculous to put yourself in unnecessary danger by offering your hands too often..

Yeah the fight would of been a draw if I do recall... Fucking bullshit man if a fighter doesnt want to touch gloves thats his choice a ref shouldnt try to enforce it, this is not the nfl or basketball.. this is the hurt business. Not everyone wants to touch gloves with someone who wants to knock your head off.
