Gamboa is clearly the better fighter p4p, but I think Rios is just too big for him and wins by mid to late KO. Unless he's even more horrendously starved and dried out then last time, in which case maybe he goes down. Kind of dumb that that's the kind of thing that's going to determine the winner, rather than who's the better fighter.

There are other fights I'd rather see these guys in (tons for Rios at 140, for instance), and Gamboa going to 135 pretty much guarantees we never get Gamboa vs. Donaire, which is the fight I'd like to see more than any other below WW.

Also (from that article), more proof that Rios has the lowest IQ in boxing:

“I’m more than happy to do it right away,” Rios said regarding the Gamboa fight, which is the only option at lightweight keeping him from moving up to 140 pounds. “I want to prove myself and show everybody I’m not a fluke, like everybody thinks I am. I’m fighting all these guys they’re saying I’m bigger than. I need to prove myself, so I need a serious challenge.”
I know -- I'll fight someone from two divisions below me!

It should be Rois vs Guerrero at 140.
    and I wouldn't mind seeing
Gamboa vs Linares for the vacant WBA lightweight title.
not to mention, I still want the Lopez vs Gamboa fight or even Chris John.

There are even a number of good fights for Rios at 135 and there are good fights for Gamboa at 126. I don't really see the point in this fight. Not that it is a potentially fun styles match-up, but I just don't get it.

Rios should never be allowed to fight at 135 after the last fight. He has to go 140 and I dont see Gamboa going up that much in weight.

I stood next to Gamboa recently and he is not a big man, can't see him fighting much bigger that 130. I have never seen Rios in person but 140 fighters are pretty good sized guys walking around. This fight seems a bit unlikely to me.

Gamboa may be the smaller man but at least he can make the weight which should even it out and make it a good fight. Hope Gamboa wins.

More to do with both being hot and in the moment names rather than defining a division or title. Gamboas defensive lapses will get more and more costly as he goes up, he has other options. Rios is no where near 135 now, should have already moved up.

let Rios fight and get his ass whooped by Guerrero, or put him in there with Bradley, Soto, or even Matthysse

Gamboa is not big enough for 135. At the least, I'd like to see him fight someone ranked in the lower top 10 at 135 to see if he even can fight at that weight against someone pretty good.

Rios is the biggest guy at 135 and shouldn't even be there after not being able to make weight. Guys like Marquez, Katsidis, etc.... weigh in at 135 or below and weigh around 144-146 in the ring. Rios walks in there at 150 or more. That is the size of the 140 pound guys. Just go ahead and move up and stop cutting so much weight to try to have a big size advantage over opponents.

I don't want to see this fight, too much of a weight difference. Rios vs Marquez at 140 would be a better fight and Marquez would shut this punk up.
