Thread: David Price back in action this weekend against John McDermott

David Price is back this saturday on sky sports against John McDermott for the vacant English title. I think McDermott has the experience to give Price some decent heavyweight rounds, but Price really does need to make a statement here IMO. He's got the opportunity to have a comparative performance with Fury IMO and if he beats McDermott in style I think it will be good for his record. Hes got great power Price and I believe over time he has the opportunity to become a strong fighter. I would love to see him in with Fury I think that could be a great British heavyweight showdown come late 2012.

He's physically very gifted Price. That gives him the edge over most fighters, just needs to learn/ show us him using it better.

i reckon price rounds 1-3 at 7-2 gotta be worth a few quid

If Price hasnt got a glass jaw he could go places , will be interesting to see how he deals with the John "The Human Mudslide" McDermott.

John McDermott is a much better boxer than he looks

he also hits pretty hard and his record isnt really fair to him either, he's lost a few that maybe could have gone the other way

he was also caught cold on one oocasion against Matt Skelton which has dogged him worse than a lot of defeats for a lot of boxers, as in people always refer to that as proving he is nowhere near british level

I think he is a very good british title level challenger, he would more than likely beat skelton now
