    Question Fighting Ugly

In a boxing match some time's you see fighting ugly, Hopkins is a master of the art some may call it
the trick's of the trade. In the past I have seen Hagler Duran Hatton have all done there bit, weather
it using the head, inside of the glove low blow's,holding and hitting pushing elbow's.!
This is just a example of some fighting ugly tell me about other fighter's what you think fit the bill and there trick's.!

All great champions have had to do it at some stage in their career, Naz did it against Wayne McCullough, Lennox v Tua, Hearns v Kithchin where he had to survive a knockdown, Benn v Galvano II, anything to get the W in your column.

Tyson with his elbows, Floyd with his forearms, Marciano punching the thighs, alot of fighters do it either to wear a guy down, as a tactic or just to get a mental edge.

Heavyweights do a lot of this type of in-fighting. I've seen Duran smother and make guys use up their energy to push him off. It's not very becoming for lighter weights so I guess that's where you see it as ugly. Watching Ward/Gatti wasn't pretty dancing but i wouldn't really call it ugly.

Evander Holyfıeld late ın hıs career (ıts stıll ongoıng ısnt ıt?! ) really started headbuttıng lıke a cocksucker. Have you ever seen George Forman's VERY 1ST PUNCH on Frazıer ın theır fırst fıght? Watch the vıdeo careffully. It ıs an amazıngly thuddıng shot to the flexor/extensor tendons on Frazıer's left hıp joınt. And MAN dıd ıt back hım up---Im wıllıng to bet that shot rıght there paralyzed hıs left leg for a few secs. As for Marcıano hıttıng the thıghs? I dıdnt see that too many tımes....whıch fıght was that prevalent ın? Perhaps ın the Moore fıght? You know Tyson used to try to burst the veıns under the armpıt to paralyze that whole arm---he went for that weırd left uppercut to the armpıt several tımes agaıhnst Buster Douglas ıf you watch the tape.

ıts at 0:57 seconds of the vıdeo below.

When I clicked on this thread, I assumed it was going to be about fighting Nikolay Valuev, cause he is definitely ugly! (bedum-tish)

However, I really dislike the standoff counter style fighters like Junior Witter and I agree with Paul McCloskey being ugly to watch too. Fighting ugly isn't necessarily fighting unsuccessfully though, as some of the best champions are those that have become really good at fighting ugly. Step forward Mr Bernard Hopkins for this award.

It's strange I have seen Hopkins, fight ugly on many occasion's but I have seen him box really well on
some occasion's as well. Can you think of a other fighter's that have done this.!
