    Vitali is 40!

You can't really rate that! Still winning, but he is getting older. Slower. But who can blame him? He's had stacks of fights and a long career.

But was made to look his age by a man half as old. Thats just how it will be from now. Still winning.

If David Haye actually had those guts, he would cause problems.

It will always be anyones guess how good either Klitschko really is or would have been imo. There is just no way you can hold their resumes up to any past HW's who would be tagged great, and they have each have limitations which make it nearly impossible for me to be confident that they would have even been competitive with certain opponents.

As far as this fight proving anything about Vitali I just can't agree with that, he is an old man and would not have struggled with Chisora only a couple of years ago imo. He looked on the verge of broken today, surely people aren't suggesting that he hasn't lost a huge step?

Overrated no, lost a step or 2 most likely , looks awkward as hell and its not pretty but how many clean punches did he actually take He won 9-3 and yet that's a negative...vitali on his day could give any hwy ever a good fight, not sayin he'd win but isn't geting embarassed by anyone.

Yes you are right Vitali is overrated. Everybody raved about how he would destroy Chisora, and yet despite that not happening nobody is entertaining the thought that Vitali's flaws may have been exposed. It is his age they say, despite a fighters power being the last thing to go, he could not knock Chisora down or stop him marching forward. Del boy did not become Joe Frazier overnight and yet at times he gave the elder Klitschko kittens. This despite not having a lot of bang in his punches. Del boy has never been lacking in heart but technically he is a little naive and limited, but still he made Vitali look clumsy. Well surprise surprise, he has always been clumsy. None of the ATG lacked in heart, something you can not say for a lot of Vitali's previous opponents, and still even though an old school fighter with limited power and ability exposes his weaknesses, Vitali continues to be overrated.

Not really most people are forgetting what they said pre-fight and blaming the fact he didn't knock out Chisora on his suddenly becoming old........overnight.

I thought Klitschko won most of the rounds. He had to work for it and good job too.

He most certainly isn't overrated. He has lost on a couple of injuries and barely lost rounds throughout his career. He lost something like 3 here because of an awkward style.

Chisora is taking boxing seriously unlike in the past and Vitali is older than any other top level boxer.

I just think most of his resume is very average, not his fault because he's in a weak era. But that doesn't mean he would compete against the other ATG Heavyweight's either, like i've heard time and time again. What exactly would you say was his best win was ? or his denfining fight ?
I hate it when people say shit like this.

People try to discredit Rocky Marciano because they say he didn't have the best opposition. You can't define a fighter with one fight, especially when he has many other notable ones. You can't define Klitschko with Lewis without defining him with Briggs, Peter, and Adamek.

I mean, come on. He's not invincible.

But if it weren't for those cuts, I firmly believe that Vitali would have went on to defeat Lennox.

THis fight didnt change my perception of Vitali in any way because I always thought he was overrated.. He's just a clumsy stumbling frankenstein who was able to take advantage of the sorriest Heavyweight era with his size for years but i was never impressed.. Without his size, he wouldn't have been shit..

No wonder I picked him to outpoint Chisora in a close fight.. I knew he wasn't going to look great. Fuck the clits.

Some overrate, some underrate, he isn't exciting enough to really care.

He is the best heavyweight right now mainly because of his height and ability to use it, but the heavyweight division is weak because a lot of the great athletes traded in boxing gloves for degrees and the others are hyped and pressed into matches too soon.

missed 4 years because basically he kept injuring himself in training and decided to retire.
only 2 fights lost were when he tore a rotator cuff (Byrd) and when Lewis busted his eye up and it was stopped.

And he appeared to be fighting with a messed up left hand today.

How many 40 year old fighters that were injured alot, take 4 years off, come back, win every fight, and then wins against a much younger fighter with only one hand?

Is the HW division good? No, but Vitali just wins.

You can only fight your era.
This is very true, but when that era produces Sam Peter as your best victory in 15 years, it's hard to try and compare Vitali with the greats.
Totally agree i think i remember you making a thread, what exactly was Vitali Klitschko's best win.

Well let us look at the atg heavyweight list most would have Holmes and Louis at the top right. Take a good look at there resumes they are shit really. I mean Holmes was a great fighter but what is his best win a faded Norton he had a life and death fight with but people see him as great. I will say this about the brothers they are not the greatest but they get shit on pretty bad just for there eras. I mean you go by resume, How the dominated, how long there reign was, and how good there skills were.

Vitali certainly looked old, could barely stand at the end of the fight, Wlad was holding him up. Vitali was also throwing arm punches which is why Chisora look a lot of them easily.

I was wondering what a peak Holyfield or Tyson would have done or even a Fraisier.
