    Default Amsterdam and Paris

Any of you have any advice on Amsterdam? I'm going to be there in two weeks, staying a week there and then off to Paris for a week.

Everyone and their mother has given me info on Paris, and told me places to go, but that's pretty much all sorted.

Amsterdam is a little more of a clean slate I have 3 days where I can go explore. How is it getting around there? We've already got a few cafe's and the Red Light District already on the plans, so I'm looking for more historical buildings,.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Dont miss all the great art Museums dedicated to each artist.

Smoke some Morrocan black hash in the Bull dog cafe.

Make sure to walk the red light district and go window shopping.

Dont take anything with you out of the city on trains or buses, you feel safe but you cross borders very fast in a small country like that, then they'll have you,one minute you got nice train guards next your out of the train in Germany or Belgium "passport please where have you been? , I see, Amsterdam would mind coming with us into this room and bending over please .

Dont know about the seasons but the tulip farms just north of Amsterdam a touch are great, something about tulips and windmills.

If you got the time a look at the mass war graves way down south are just over whelming.

The Panorma Mesdag is worth a look down near Den Hagg so's the observatory/planetarium down there if you got a couple of hours to kill in the area.

Paris Ahh Watch the movie Amalie before you go exploring, get a local romantic feel for the place.

A nice stroll in the evening cool is the walk up to the Sacre Coeur its on the other side of town to all the other stuff you will be wanting to see during the day, but its all up hill up little alleys with interesting little cafes and shops, right up the top and up behind it Moulin rouge up in Montmare....maybe a night out?

Be careful in the underground train net work,in central and more so out in the Latin quarter, the former is well worked by well dressed con artists who aim at foreigners looking at how to exchange money, Best one is " Hello I work here is everything ok? may I help you? They say "I can do it fast for you in French no problems and put their hand out for your checks", They will approach before you have got to the machines or the windows.

Past through it a few times to get the ferry to England and only ever visited the town once, got stoned in a Cafe went to mcdonalds and just laughed at the woman behind the counter for about 5 minutes, smiled so hard while walking about that my face was sore, my feet felt like they where going through the floor, I thought the sex gangs that hung around selling drugs where doing whistling codes to each other in order to steal my wife and sell her into sax slavery so left instantly for Belgium.

that was the last time I ever smoked weed

    Hope this helps

Watch out when crossing the road, or pavement for that matter, the Dutch are bloody crazy on their pedal bikes, and the trams, becareful of those too.

In Paris go see Les Invalides, its an amazing military museum and also houses the tomb of Napoleon.

As for cathedrals I've told you, Saint Chappel is the most impressive as far as stained glass goes. Chartres is amazing as far as the architecture, Notre Dame is just big.

In Amsterdam be sure to get some frites and mayo!
