Default Note to Jose Sulaiman: "Take notes from Francisco Varcarcel."

JuanMa Lopez accuses ref Roberto Ramirez Sr. of being corrupt after his knockout loss to Salido... and WBO chief Francisco Varcarcel (Puerto Rican) suspends JuanMa for a year. This is even after JuanMa issues an apology the following day, for his unfortunate statements.

Meanwhile, when Antonio MargaCHEATO got caught with plaster wraps before his fight with Mosley, and got his license suspended for a year.... WBC chief José "Scumbag" Sulaiman (Mexican) shamelessly defended MargaCHEATO. Hmmm, let's see.... insulting a ref while still woozy from a knockout loss (sort of a "spur-of-the-moment" event), versus a premeditated attempt to seriously injure another fighter by cheating.

Both are heads of boxing organizations. Both could be viewed as being partial to fellow countrymen fighters. And yet, when Varcarcel had to mete out punishment against JuanMa, he didn't even blink. In fact, he may have been a bit severe. Sulaiman, on the other hand, can always be counted on for blatantly favoring Mexican fighters, even against public opinion.

That's not all Sulaiman is known for. He has also famously protected the coddled pride and joy of Papa Julio Cesar Chavez, by keeping him out of harm's way while he has padded his undefeated record of over 40 wins.

How this sleazebag has managed to remain in power after so-o-o-o-o many years, is completely beyond comprehension.

Tito I agree with about about the corruption in the WBC , that what you get with a life long president
it's a great pity, are the other governing body's any better no not really.
As for Lopez he done it again his boxing was excellent , then he go's all Macho I could not believe he
made the same mistake twice. The stoppage was right he was out on his feet, I like Lopez he will be
back will he learn I don't no what do you think.!

He will just if it does pay, otherwise he'll continue his erratic and subjective ruling.

Yeah, DB.... JuanMa needs to learn some accountability. And getting the one-year suspension from the WBO, although a bit harsh, should do just that. Boxers shouldn't be allowed to just run off at the mouth, at the expense of anybody who's in their sights. Even if they've just suffered a devastating loss. I'm telling you.... he's caught a lot of hell and criticism right here in his hometown.

And about Sulaiman and the WBC... what can I tell you. He IS like a dictator who's been in power for life, and certainly has taken advantage of it. My main point in the thread is that, while on the one hand you have a Francisco Varcarcel (who's Puerto Rican) handing out a one-year suspension to JuanMa for his comments after losing to Salido...... on the other hand you have a sleazebag like Sulaiman, who protested Margarito's suspension after getting caught with plaster wraps, and has defended him at every turn.

Varcarcel could've looked the other way and merely given Lopez a slap on the wrist... but he acted objectively and without nationalistic bias. Something that Sulaiman is obviously INCAPABLE of doing. Which is why someone should've canned his ass a long time ago.

That's a little harsh, the man apologised the next day which shows his head was a little foggy when he made the statements.

Agree with the fact that Sulaiman is corrupt and Margarito should have been banned for longer.

Yeah that was a bit harsh. The WBO could've gotten the message with a lesser punishment. Maybe JuanMa can win an appeal. I would hope so.

Hopefully just a fine of some sort.
