I can explain it.
But I cant understand it for you.
Round 3 to Johnson.
Johnson starts to control the range to take r3. Finding a home for his straight punches and stifling Leapai when he tries to close.
Leapai looking gassed in the corner after round 4, Johnson looking fit
Comments from Aus boxing by the way:::
R4 hard to score. Leapai has Johnson in the corner for majority but not much landing flush. KJ biding his time and touching with straights
5 Johnson ends the 5th on the offensive. Leapai nuzzling into the chest but Johnson landing a chopping right at will and then opening up in final 30 seconds.
round 6 Leapai sneaking a few short lefts into r6. Another one for the American though. Has his right hand measured and scoring well with back to ropes
Leapai still walking forward resolutely but not throwing enough to take the 7th. Plenty of feeling/shit talking in a very tight 8th round.
Leapai given standing count after being trapped on ropes! Retreats to his own corner and KJ unloads till ref stops it. Really solid fighT.
Ko win to KJ.
Have a look at the guys face on the far right on that vid right at the end, it speaks volumes :
Just as Leapia is talking into the mic, obviously asking for a rematch. Im pretty certain the guy pictured and reacting was meant to fight Leapia this time around but already lost his preliminary fight so missed the chance.
The hopes and dreams of an American heavyweight bebirth are well in hand I see Thanks for the heads up, helluva finish there.
Does anyone have any good footage of the KO?
