i'll never understand why people hate on james toney.

he's so awesome! he had a great career. was an extremely gifted fighter. he's funny as hell!

who cares if he likes to be fat. who cares if he fights bums til he decides to retire.

why does everyone get so angry about him choosing to live his life this way. i don't get it.

You know your in a bad way when the "IBA" distances itself from a multi time champion and sure fire hall of famer calling out to represent your POS trinket

Toney's the laughing stock of boxing. He should have NEVER ventured into heavyweight. He looks like a beached whale, and is an insult to those that consider boxing a sport. Not only that. I cringe whenever he opens his mouth. Thank God his speech is badly slurred. Otherwise there's no telling the shit that would come out of his mouth. What little CAN be understood makes no sense at all.

I used to be a Toney fan years ago, but lost all respect for him after the second time he was tested positive for banned substances.

I agree with Tito Fan, he should have never moved up to Heavyweight and would have ruled the Crusierweight division for years.

Forget his weight, the fact that Toney has been OFFICIALLY diagnosed with brain damage, is 44 and STILL allowed to fight makes boxing a laughing stock.

Toney's pineal gland is damaged, which limits the amount of testosterone secreted. That is one of the reasons he probably finds it hard to lose body fat.

Just watch interviews with Toney over the last few years and it is clear he has brain damage already.

Needs to call it a day now to save what brain cells he has left.

He should stop now. Wonderful career, incredible rough talent but at 44 with some brain damage diagnosticated, it's more than time to call it a career and to stop before the punch that'll be too late.

People that went to the fight have said that this guy Toney fought barely even fought. Terrible if true, all people are gonna look at it as false hope. Fact of the matter is Toney takes MMA more serious than boxing nowadays, that's saddening. He dropped to 200 pounds in anticipation of fighting Ken Shamrock in an MMA bout. Gets a boxing match and stays within the weight range. And then in preperation for his next boxing match..he gains nearly 50 pounds. ..

Outrageous weight gain, 50 lbs in 5 months, but on the bright side Toney did stop the guy in 5 albeit cus Gunn broke his hand.

I thought this Gunn character would bring it to Toney from his background and tough talk before the fight.

Now Toney can fight Sherman "The Tank" Williams, not in a boxing match but in a hot dog eating contest.
