Particularly interested in the headgear, if anyone has used it.

I've only used the full facebar no contact headgear, it had good protection but it was a bit to heavy and bulky for my liking. Its good though if your just getting into sparring and getting used to the idea of being in the ring and getting hit.

On another note I really like the tri tech bag gloves they have! Decent padding, a little heavy(even for 14 oz) and they feel secure when on. They have a nice little venting mesh, so my hands don't get too swampy after a long period of use.

yeah definately, head gear will help you from getting cut and bruising and everything. The extra padding helps more than you think.
