If you figure three 3 minute rounds, with a minute between rounds, you'll be ok. Instead of training to fight 5 rounds, I would train to fight 3 rounds all out.
Don't want to be peaking/catching your 2nd wind after the fight is over.

    Few questions:

Are you fighting "Unattached" or did you join a Boxing Gym?

Did you make sure you HeadGear is Competition Legal - It should have a USA Boxing Logo on the back or an ABIA logo. Otherwise you might have just got yourself some Sparring Headgear

Gloves?? - In amatuer boxing the competition gloves are provided at the show. Also make sure you know what kind of gloves you have, some aren't made for sparring.

What's the other $50 for, is it your registration?

Training at 3mins with 30sec rest is pretty typical. Just keep at it..

In amateur boxing, you may end up with 1-2mins rounds starting out. It all depends on the show (smoker). Lots of different variables depending on your area.

Okay, and i think i just have sparring headgear because i dont see a logo on the back, ill look at it when i get home though. and the gloves are sparring gloves, my coach ordered them just for sparring, and the other 50 is for signing up for boxing.
and yeah, i have a gym

Most gyms work off a 3/1 system: a buzzer rings to start each round, goes off again to end it. My suggestion to you would be to train for what you are going to fight. There is an insane desire these days to do too much and too many guys leave their fight in the gym. You want to enter the ring prepared to go as many rounds as you are scheduled to go, all out, if need be, and to have 1 minute to recover. Train for your fight.

Alright, Will do. thanks for the advice, again Lol, oh and i got a new mouthguard,
one of those evergel ones for like 25bucks, and i formed it, it fits perfect, but i cant breathe out while throwing punches, while im wearing it. dont think theres a hole on the middle for my breathe.. should i just get a different mouthguard? or keep trying to get used to it. was just thinking of getting a like 10dollar double sided one to form.

If you can breathe through your nose at all times its a plus and it also means you are in fantastic shape.

If you breathe out of your mouth while throwing punches that also means you are in your opponents range and you more than likely have a relaxed jaw. Bad things happen with a relaxed jaw.

I trained to breathe in and out calmly through the nose and out hard through the nose during a punch. It takes practice, but if you think about it the nose is on your face for the purpose of breathing and smelling. The mouth is for talking and eating.

I think us Americans need to use are nose more..

My nasal canal is pretty twisted, it's very hard for me to breath through my nose.
Punch resistance is never something I've had a problem with. You can breath through your mouth without having your jaw gaping open
