Watching a few Roy fights and was thinking about how Chad would deal with a Tarver era and post Tarver era Jones.
I think the Good Bad Chad could win a decision on Roy.

Undisputed Light-Heavyweight Champ Roy Jones would have easily schooled Dawson and made him look average, Dawson fights at a tempo that Jones loves, and would have just timed and pot shotted Dawson all 12 rounds

Is this a serious question?

Tarver fought with a chip on his shoulder and Dawson mostly fights with his head on the pillow. Jones all day, all night.

What about post Tarver Jones like against Calzaghe? I feel an aggressive Dawson could give Roy problems. Maybe just wishful thinking.

So weaken the comparison is the answer? Like Poncho Villa v Jimmy Wilde. So Dawson needs a shadow of Jones in order to beat him. Pretty much answered your own ?

I didn't necessarily weaken the question. The question was the Tarver Era Jones and the Post Tarver era Jones.

you never know. Roy fought alot of stiffs in his day. For all the talent he had, his accomplishments did not make his talent level.

A Prime Jones would just crush dawson, both physically or mentally.

The latter version of Jones would probably get knocked out or whooped in a wide UD lost.

What if they fought next year, who you guys got?

Prime Roy beats Tarver and Dawson in the same night.

RJJ stops Bad Chad before the loss and decisions him after the loss.

No you weakened the Jones question. The pre Ruiz Jones would have raped Dawson at 175 or 168. In short, a prime Jones would have trashed a prime Dawson. The Jones that shed about 20 pounds of muscle that fought Tarver would probably get beat by Dawson. And?

....I don't even think the weight drained RJJ loses to Chad because Tarver had big power, Chad doesn't.
