    Default Duane Ford

What I can't understand is, aint he the same guy who gave the edge to Pacquiao against Marquez. How does this guy judge? Is he saying Bradley box/beat Pacquiao more than Marquez?

Marquez clearly did a lot better against Pacquiao than Bradley, i think we can all agree there, what are we missing How in the hell does Duane Ford judge a fight?

Also, didn't Lederman say that he's the head judge? He teaches all other judges how to judge?

I can imagine his classes now :

"Step 1 - receive phonecall from uncle Bob"

"Step 2 - Ask him who is winning on fight night"

    "Step 3 - Score accordingly"

"Step 4 - Pick up the thick, brown envelope waiting for you at reception"

He's a scum bag horrid judge that had plagued boxing for years.

Seems like Duane Ford and Jerry Roth judge nearly every big fight.

I remember Roth gave the first Hopkins-Taylor fight to Hopkins like me, and Ford gave it to Taylor including giving him the last round which was atrocious.

Since then I've disagreed with most every scorecard Roth has given it seems despite initially agreeing with him.

Melvina Lathen is another piece of shit.

Nothing short of a complete overhaul of the current high profile boxing judges needs to be done.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

many of the boxing judges that get the call in vegas are old as dirt.

I think Ford is 74. Roth is 71.

I don't know about you. In general, watching a fight and figuring out which guy landed and which didn't, is not the easiest task.

Yet, we ask people in their 70s to watch a boxing match and let their eyes make out what is happening between 2 very fast athletes.

    It makes no sense.

Watching anything is just asking your brain to process information. How quickly do you process information at age 30 or 40 compared to age 70

I propose that in the event of a fight going the distance, the fight should be awarded to the fighter with the most vowels in his name.

You may think that sounds like a stupid idea, but I gaurentee my system will get the right winner more often than these clowns do.

    Good post.

Judges should be not more than 60 yrs old.

60yrs is mandatory retirement so why let them judge boxing matches??

Duane Ford also scored the rematch of De la Hoya-Mosley for Mosley but he also scored Guzman-Funeka for Funeka so ALL his decisions aren't horrible.

Judges' names should be clickable on Boxrec so you can bring up their entire judging career. That might end up helping the bad judging problem if it focuses attention on people who keep getting it wrong. Seventy and eighty year olds should be forcibly retired.

do you think these guys get influenced by public outcry? I mean pretty everyone thought marquez should have got the call last, maybe they were looking for bradleys work?

but you also have to have to look at who controls the purse strings
