Damien Hirst at Tate Modern
I am once again on my way to London by way of train on a day trip to fulfill the 2nd of my three New years resolutions. I have now seen the Lucian Freud retrospective and will be going to Copenhagen to see David Hockeny's work in November. My gorgeous other half has joined me for this one and I am looking forward to seeing so many Hirst's in one place. As an installation artist myself I can not say that Hirst, Emin and many lesser known Young British Artists have not had an impact on my own practice. Not sure if anyone will be interested now Miles is on holiday but will post anyway. Saddo is a broad church and there are at least two other artists and many culturally inquisitive posters here anyhoos, Boxing itself being a great artform.

Again it was great to see a retrospective of one artist's work collected together under one roof. I was unsure on exactly what my reactions and responses to the work was when I left the great turbine hall but in arriving back at the station I filled my notebook( the paper kind) with pages of thoughts and will probably post them along with my Freud reactions on my blog here, soon. It was very enlightening and has helped me to see things through another original and unique pair of eyes. It turns out that the Emperors new clothes are both impossibly beautiful and real whilst still remaining transient and unquantifiable. Sorry to sound all cryptic but all will be revealed.
