    Default VK tribute thread...

Firstly my thoughts go out to corrie sanders and his family. RIP. Secondly let's celebrate the career of this great man Vitali Klitschko:

Finished with a record of 45-2.

-WBC champion sam peter who was 30-1.
    -Kevin johnson who was 23-0-1.
-Shannon briggs who was 51-6-1. A former WBO and lineal champion.
-Herbie hide who was 31-1 and a two time WBO champion.
    -Danny williams who was 32-3.
    -Larry donald who was 39-3-2.
    -Kirk johnson who was 34-1-1.
    -Timo hoffman who was 22-0.
-Southpaw juan carlos gomez who was 44-1-1 and former WBC Cruiserweight champ.
-Thomasz adamek who was 44-1.Former WBC LHW Champ and former IBF and ring CW champ
    -Derrick chisora who was 15–3.
-Corrie sanders who was 39-2. Sanders was the WBC heavyweight champion.
-Odlanier Solís who was 17-0. Solis won the Olympic Gold.
    -Chris arreola who was 27-0.
-Orlin norris who was 51–7 1. A former WBA cruiserweight champion.
    -Jose ribalta 38-14-1.
    -Manuel charr who was 21-0.

(Fought lewis as a last minute replacement, lost on cut's! Lost to byrd due to a shoulder injury sustained at some point during the bout. Was ahead on cards in both fights!)

A 3X HW champion, never been floored or hardly ever dropped a round. ATG comeback. U cannot fail to respect this man (Considering he has been plagued with injuries throughout his entire career!) Good luck with your post fight career champ it has been a pleasure following your career...

Please post your thoughts and best wishes....

A true champion in the ring and out. Damn I miss him already. I love those upjabs of his and how just leaned back and came with a hard chopping straight. The subtle movement with his leg that it appeared that barely moves and yet he dominates distance and angles.

In 5-10 years time people will really appreciate how great he really was.

    Best of luck Dr.

I thought it was too early to retire Vitali, he wants to beat the crap out of Haye.

I want to hate the Klit brothers but can’t find a single decent reason, they are smart, funny and very good boxers who carry themselves like true professionals. They are a credit for clearing up the crap that is around today. We should appreciate them more.

Could be one of the all time greats for all we know, but he certainly aint gonna go down as one in my book, when his best win is against Sam Peter!

What a horrid list of victims. Not one person on that list that wouldn't have been beaten by the top 50 heavyweights of all time.

Can't even be bothered to quote that last reply or to dignify it! But then again...I'm bored!

Not one person on that list that wouldn't have been beaten by the top 50 heavyweights of all time
MATE, THE ONE'S WHO BARELY MADE IT ONTO THE LIST WOULD (AND DID!) BEAT A TOP 50 HW! LOL. I wasn't even gunna include orlin norris...will his victory over prime (top 50 HW!) oliver mcall and his 2 boxing lessons of tony tucker do??

Even VK'S lesser win's beat top 50 HW's let alone the better ones! LOL. I think your argument just got quashed!

Oh and for the record i think u will find that sam peter did better against james toney than john ruiz, rahman jirov or holyfield did! And he certainly did better against maskaev than former lineal champ rahman did! Again case quashed!

However peter is not his best win, i think that would be sanders who has a win over someone who is bordering on the top 10 (if he carries on doing as he's doing!) wladimir klitschko! Again case closed.

    Now go watch:

-Herbie hide beat tony tucker and michael bentt.

    -Danny williams beat tyson.

-Larry donald beat tim witherspoon and tyrell biggs.

    -Kirk johnson beat oleg maskaev.

And finish on Juan carlos gomez outboxing mcall twice!!

P.s Multiple gold medallist solis would beat peter too!

Don't hate. It's not vitali's fault he was walking through WBC champ sam peter at 38 yrs old (and retired!) and the likes of 38 yr old mike tyson were getting brutally kayoed by Danny williams is it?? Holmes resume is worse and we all know sanders would KO cooney!

    Pps Sorry wlad!

With the division we have currently the list is impressive as he sought out the best available to him, but H's statement is accurate.
This is not disrespectful towards Vitali; like Tyson, Marciano and Louis he fought what was available to him.

Just finished watching "Klitschko" for the first time on HBO, it's an excellent documentary about the 2 K-Bros, that's well worth watching. After watching it i've got nothing but respect for these 2 brothers, the doc is a personal look into their lives. I also enjoyed hearing what their mother and deceased father had to say about them, as well as Vitali's wife, who I think is beautiful.

Vitalis a great champ & a model boxer but unfortunatly in a shit era of heavy weights!! No one will no how gud (as in all time) he is or isnt because hes not boxed a prime tyson, lewis, holyfield (or go back) foreman, ali, frasier, theres been no real solid tests for him, look back over the years all the greats hav had litmus tests against GREAT fighters.........unfortunatly danny williams, chris arrolea & sam peter dont go down as litmus tests imp!!!!

Just more cliche old timer crap! ANY AVERAGE force blows from either K2 in there prime would put the old timers into a coma!!! The only guys (with a few exceptions!) competitive enough would be Lewis and Tyson. George foreman said the K brother are as good as champions..! as any before them..! and that guy knows a bit about boxing. Shannon briggs stated vitali klitschko is the best fighter he ever fought...look he he's been in with! I will take them over your nostalgic pipe-dreams anyday....

6' 1", 187 lb. Jack Dempsey or a 5' 11", 188 lb. Rocky Marciano would plow through them right LOL.

Only lewis and tyson would be competitive with prime klitschko! Sorry. In fact i think we should discount the exceptional klitschkos and ask how Great olympians and multiple gold medallist's like a focused povetkin, prime byrd or solis would do!

What would happen between Tyson/tua and PRIME Sam Peter anyone's guess. I worth remembering Peter hang technically with Toney, who is acclaimed great technician. But of course tyson would blow peter away in northern nostalgia land.....

For all of you who hate the KO brothers its your loss...They changed the sport. They laughed in the face of homicidal don king...They completely own a division in every aspect! LOL.

Get over it. You do not have to be american to be a good HW.

A train. How about You...A swing?

What was lewis' win over a 234lb tyson in 02 then?? What r u on!!

Lewis was linear champ and williams was a B level HW FFS! Yet we should de-value williams' win!! Williams was the underdog in that fight BTW!

Tyson was the same age as vitali was when he fought sam peter after a 4 year layoff! Again proves the greatness of VK. It's not vitalis fault he dominated 2 weight champ adamek and holmes lost to spinks!

Adamek would beat i.e michael moorer (Who was battered by bert cooper and barely defeated average axel schultz!) and arreola would give anyone (but the elite!) of any era a hard night!

    VK = ATG H2H FIGHTER! Don't hate...appreciate! LOL.

Philiospoher you are overly obsessive with age to make your arguments when you know that boxers age relative to the boxing matches they have.

    Danny Williams LOL
