Tyson was in rebuilding mode and took on Razor Ruddock, who was leagues above fat, slow, faded Foreman who didn't even deserve a title shot. Holyfield actually ducked Ruddock to fight Foreman ... Bowe also avoided him. So how did Tyson "duck" Foreman when Foreman went on to fight Holyfield for the title? He "ducked" him because Foreman chose to take a title fight? The truth is that Foreman didn't deserve a title bout and Holyfield should have fought either Tyson or Ruddock, the two best fighters in the division. Foreman's biggest win was Gerry Cooney at that time, who was a bum. Holyfield saw him as an easy opponent who would generate a lot of cash so he fought him.

By the time he was released from prison he was collecting titles and then "lost" to Holyfield around the same time Foreman lost to Shannon Briggs.

Foreman lost to Tommy Morrison ... Tyson would've beaten him too ... look at how these morons try and prop up Gerry Cooney vs George Foreman as some kind of amazing fight that showed Foreman was "legit." Foreman was slow and fat and beat on another fat and slow bum. He beat one of the weakest champions around in Michael Moorer to win two heavyweight titles ... and Moorer clearly outboxed him the entire fight. That article has no credibility at all and any moron who was simply aware at what was going on in the year 1990 and after knows that.

I agree wih everything you said...........cc.to you sir.

Tyson took on Ruddock who was considered the most dangerous contender at the time, No one would fight him, except Tyson............so the notion that Tyson was scared of fat,old George is ludicrous and I think Tyson would tear him a new one

I don't think that Mike was ever in any real trouble ... he was literally IRON in those fights and the shots that he took could KO a damn elephant. Just the sound from the impact of their crushing blows was nuts.

No way does an old Foreman contend with even an early 90s Tyson, after the Douglas fight. The body shots would take everything out of him and leave him open to getting KOed. Not even George Foreman (albeit an old version) can exchange punches with Mike Tyson ... the hardest puncher in the division (Ruddock was hitting harder than Foreman at that time and probably even Tyson) couldn't even do that.

Any given round of either of those fights is superior to the career of both Klits btw lol.

man those 2 fights were brutal.
but Tyson was a mere shadow of his former self here. The pre king rooney era Tyson was much better imo.
Tyson had hardly any head movement and baciacally became a head hunter which is evedant in the Ruddock fights, actually youll notice Tyson became a 1 dimensional fighter after spinks, still very good but not the killer he was trained under d'mato desiple keven rooney.

tua gets ko by foreman and Tyson
Tyson kos both young and old foreman- I just think tysons spped and how his punches came from all angles and in combinations would be to much for the ponderous foreman..........as ali said he was like a big slow mommy and had shit defense.
    ...........just my 2 cents

Hey, excuse this noob question. Tyson was around when I was very young and not really into boxing other saying his name so I could be cool. I wanted to see what anyone's opinion was on his jab. It seems like he could go a fight just throwing power punches.I am watching some of his work on YouTube but mainly the highlight reels which aren't interested in jabs. I have to say Tysons defense was much better than I thought.

Tyson's defence was brilliant and made him the exceptional fighter he was. We all know he has speed and power but his defensive skills made him the champion he became. You are right his jab was very good and it broke people down with it by timing it well against taller opponents. At his best he never neglected to use it. The fight with Rudduck was a poor showing from Tyson, his technique was gone and it was just you punch me and I punch you harder.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
