    Default Excluding K2 ...

Who is the best heavyweight around?

Making this thread since Price who was up and coming just got KOed by a guy who is at the end of his career

Kinda shakes up the heavyweight picture up a bit

Easily David Haye imo, and nobody in their right mind had any reason to put Price ahead of him before last night either. I don't like the guy and he leaves a lot to be desired with his inactivity and reluctance to fight guys of similar merits, but who beats him aside from a Klitschko? I mean he's somewhat vulnerable and could get caught against a few guys, but 9 times out of 10 I think he'd clean out anyone else. Still interested in seeing him fight Vitali, who is looking really old and slow.

Good post but that is also what bothers me about the fight. Not sure it means all that much anymore.

No, it probably doesn't mean a damn thing. Vitali of only a few years ago would've made Haye claim the dog ate all of his toes that morning, I just think it still has the potential to be an exciting HW fight. Vitali might well be to slow and cumbersome to keep up with Haye, but he sure as hell wouldn't bow out easily and it'd be interesting to see what lengths he'd go to to win.

2nd place doesn't mean much. I think that the Arreola-Stiverne winner is pretty much #2, then maybe Povetkin or Adamek.

True enough. Biggest payday in the div outside a rematch with the other one. Ftr yeah I'd love to see it.

I like that attitude. No doubt Arreola has clawed his way back a bit into the thicket----no way Stiverne wins IMO. Adamek looks decent as well. Povetkin is a piece of poptart.

Assuming Haye stays retired, or doesn't fight with any consistency, my prospects are still David Price, Odlanier Solis, and Robert Helenius.

Price got caught, so it's up to him to use it as a learning experience and improve on it. Obviously Solis had a setback against Vitali and Helenius have a close call/gift decision against Chisora. Hopefully they all come back better from it.
