Classic Mayorga, coming in out of shape/overweight. Beating up on a lesser opponent, then savagely attacking him when he's already done.

Similar to him thumbing Michael Walker in the eye then going ape shit on him.

He's a fighter through and through. He won't exactly make waves in mma though. Beat a guy who was 0-1.

    Still...VIVA MAYORGA!!!

    Hahahahaha!

    Nice one!

The first right hand he threw he had that Tiffer on the deck!

Also, Tiffers pro record is 5 wins and 1 loss.

Now Mayorga has had a taste, you never know, he might put some wins together and at least unlike that freak show Kimbo Slice Mayorga is tough, has stamina and a chin

I heard the guy he fought had a blue belt in BJJ. Not sure if Blue is good or bad.

I found the BJJ belt rankings:

Thing is with MMA you dont have to be elite at anything to be all round good. How many MMA fighters have had even one amateur bout let alone won any or performed in any championships? There is no grading in boxing. The whole grading system was bought in for commercial purposes to encourage people to attend and get memebership money.

This Wesley Tiffer has his own club and has trained in these sports for over 10 years. Thats fairly novicey really to say hes the same age as Mayorga but hes in shape and has trained in this full stop. Mayorga came in fat and wan by being tough. He should have been toyed with when on the ground but Tiffer was so wary of getting caught he didnt do alot. The one shot that Mayorga landed dropped him. All the things people were sayimg leading up to this bout and Mayorga has proven them wrong. Maybe he might be put on the contender style show that UFC does. Imagine the ratings watching him fight and listening to his bullshit

I didn't get to see the right hand, just that GIF which I am thankful for from Tigerfan.

Sherdog, which is like boxrec for mma, has Tiffer listed at 0-2. He was 0-1 before this fight. Maybe he had an amatuer mma record as well, which are more common these days.

A blue belt is right above a white belt, it took my younger brother 2 years to get his at our local mma gym. Some gyms give them out a little earlier. A blue belt is very capable of submitting someone like Mayorga who has virtually no idea what to do on the ground.

Also, I've watched a ton of mma and never seen a guy react like that from a knee to the back. Not saying it was fixed, but I've never seen it. If it was fixed it sure as hell wouldn't have gone to the second round with Mayorga almost in a submission.

If Mayorga is serious about mma (which we all know he is not) then he should keep fighting low level guys like this and stay away from UFC vets like Din Thomas. He has to learn his craft some or he's headed for a beating on the ground or being choked out.

    Nice.

Mayorga was losing for most of that fight, crazy bastard just starts out fighting 5 minute rounds too. Most guys making their pro mma debuts start with 3 minute rounds, at least around here (Northern/Central California).

The guy he fought was a solid lil fighter and in shape. He just couldn't finish Mayorga with submissions. Just bout gassed himself out in the first round too grappling with El Matador.

Credit to Mayorga for toughing it out and scoring the hail mary knee then pounding him. Guy had him in a triangle choke and was transitioning into an arm bar.

Mayorga needs to work on his takedown defense

Still this the first victory for my boy in a couple years.

20lb over weight and an illegal knee to the spine to set up the finish. Classic.

Everyones saying spine but the angle I saw it at, it was on the back but on the side. Tiffer did himself no facours with his little sissy show to the ref. He probably thought he could get Mayorga disqualified. He was probably worried that he was more tired than Mayorga had every opportunity to make him submit but found Mayorga just too tough

Mayorga had more promise that Kimbo Slice and UFC put him on that TUF reality programme. Mayorga would be pure entertainment.

I don't now if we're talking about the same fight that didn't happen but I know that one of the fight has been canceled because he was still under contract with Don King and for some legal twists, King had full rights over him and did the impossible so the fight wouldn't take place without him being involved somewhere somehow.

Mayorgas win has now been reversed to a no contest and has a 3 month suspension in MMA because of the knee...

The suspension will mean fuck all because who really wants to fight Mayorga who can tough out of arm bars and choke holds and then kick the fuck out of you?

Tiffer said before the fight that he accepted it after a wrestler had turned it down. They are scared of him and Din Thomas wants to be gratefull their fight never happaned, especially after that slap

If you guys think Mayorga has a future in MMA, you guys are crazy.

I've been a fan of both my whole life and will always love the boxing tradition/history. Although in my honest opinion, MMA is the full version of fighting. A boxer will always have a punchers chance but boxing looks one dimensional compare to MMA.

If other one dimensional fighters who are only good in one aspect of MMA can get in MMA, then a world champion in at least one martial art can make something of himself. He has proven toughness and the ability to beat world class oponents. Yes that was years ago but against someone with far more MMA experience than Mayorga, who actually teaches it, has his own MMA team, Mayorga managed to out tough him, get out of apparently ungetoutable holds and make him cry

If Mayorga was to take this as a new career path then he could be brought along slowly as fighters with no amateur back ground are in Boxing, like Chavez JR.
Hes already proved that its not going to be easy to make him submit and I think some "MMA fans" resent that.
