    Default Greatest Defensive Boxers

I recently got a new video editing setup so I was hoping to start doing some boxing vids. One of the one's that interests me is best defensive fighters. I already have names that jump out to me big time (Floyd, Locche, Sweatpea, ect), but was looking for more input to round out a top 5 (or even a top 10 if enough names come up).

Who besides the obvious (Pernell, Floyd, Locche, Pep, ect) do you guys rank as top 10 of all time defensive guys?

Herol Graham, for a time the guy was unhittable. If you'd have thrown a handful of stones at him from 2 yards he'd have dodged everyone of 'em.

    Winky Wright!

Vargas I think was to an extent underated - look at how he got away from some of trinidads shots when he was stunned - quite amazing!

    Here's a few underrated one's

    Marlon Starling
    Michael Nunn
Johnny Tapia = For a very aggressive fighter he had very good slick defense.

I hate him but you have to mention Wlad, or at least recent Wlad.

Say what you want about how boring he may be, he makes himself hard to hit.

@Beanflicker - you might have seen this video, but it is worth checking out, as an example of the video you are trying to create:

Benny Leonard was very good! Jack Johnson was an inovator applying defense and offense. Ofcourse Willie Pep must be mentioned. Willie Pastrano had excellant movement for defensive purposes. Archie Moore was very good also in the mid point of his career as he got older he was more stationary. Salvatore Sanchez was very complete! Ray

Barney Ross and Willy Pep were master class boxers.

    Agreed.

    Pep
    Burley
    Benitez
Whitaker round out my top 5

Jofre and Gans who were both as complete as they come could easy be subbed in. Langford also for his early use of the shoulder no doubt as a result of fighting people at times twice his size.
