My friend at work is the worlds worse gambler,everything he touches turns to shit.
and his tip for the National is Chicago Grey,so stay well clear my friends.
As for me i will have a £10 on Imperial Commander. Any tips guys ?.

gee I guess watching horses fall and break legs and snap necks for your entertainment is more than enough to stop it

I watched two horses fall yesterday, neither broke their neck or legs.
No one forces you to watch horse racing.
Racing and gambling is part of culture.

I do not believe a minority opinion should enforce their will and desires over the entire population because they find a activity distasteful.

But one did die of a heart attack. Horses do not naturally jump, they have to be taught, they are runners.

I think we vote for these people in elections to make informed decisions on our behalf oh yeah and companies lobby them to influence their votes so don't be silly.

Trading wogs used to be part of culture should we go back to that? Oh yeah wogs used to be culturally acceptable to say.

Clearly by that comment you do not know a horse.

Ive owned a few so I care about them. Steeple chaseing isnt natural to them.

But hey, you try talking dudes who are into dog fights into the cruelty that they deal onto the dogs and they say a similar thing; Oh they love to fight they are breed for it.

If a thousand horses do not race, which is considered cruel, they would not be allowed to survive and reproduce.
They would be eaten or kill as pests.

Is it cruel to race a horse, or to deny it a existence.
By banishing horse racing you are not saving a horse, you are condemning its genetic survival.
Any existence(life) is better than none at all.

I agree mate, And to most it sounds like an over emotional "leave the animals alone" thing but it isnt.

Racing is fine theres risks but its fine..

They dont all steeple chase.there are probably 30 events for horses of all sorts of makes and models.Theres loads of other single events and even team events and sports on horse back so we arent going to start eating them all.

Show jumping is one thing,endurance is another and racing another but to do both a race and a jump at a gallop and to change gait at a gallop isnt natural, thus the damage.


Straight racing is fine, straight hurdles not so bad, but to place a water trough lower than the track level immediately after a hurdle is just plain stupid,thats why they have shot guns and vets at each turn.

Race horses are more flighty than say a quarter horse or endurance horse or a show jumper,they are on high tech go fast food, so they go into shock even faster than normal (which is very fast anyway) and die or fuck themselves up further aside from the broken leg thing.

I've gone each way on the brother and sister combo. Seabass and On his own.

and the fallers/thrown runners often bring other horses down.

I used to watch it and think it exciting but too many times have the cameras swung round to see green covers over a dead horse. No need for it.

As for lots of horses getting shot if it were banned, these kind of horses don't exist naturally.

I would like to see Boyla jump over hurdles and have silly fat men bet on his success. Tough on him if he plunders and dies. Shoot him in the head and move on quietly lads; nothing to see here.

It is a very sick sport. At least in boxing people seldom die, but with horses and forced torture it is all too frequent.

I like the Grand National it may not be to ever ones but so be it, remember when you start picking
