    Default Boxing Riddles

going to try my hand at composing one of these as I find them entertaining. I hope cutmemick doesn't mind. So here goes nothing........
I started off my career hot and on a roll until a sorcerer finally got a split decision. And speaking of roll my trainer might say that I belonged on one. In 1993 I moved up and pulled off a terrible upset via 4th rd tko but I should be upset with the way my career was executed as I lost my last 6 bouts before finally hanging them up.
If you think you can......you can, if you think you can't .......you're right!

You are correct sir and thanks for giving it a go. Tell me how you came up with the answer and also give me some feedback regarding if it was too vague or was the riddle a good one or not. Brutal honesty is appreciated as I will be posting more and I hope to improve as I go along because this one was made up on the fly to be honest.

At first it was 'sorcerer' that made me think of Starling and of all people Dennis Milton. Who reminded me of Hopkins. The date and "Terrible" and exact result made me think Brown, then 'executed' brought me again to Hopkins and how Brown was all down hill after that bad beating. The trainer saying he needed a roll through me...is that an Atlas kitchen metaphore? Also Atlas spoke highly of Brown this last FNF. It was a good one dude, the exact year may have bullseyed it, maybe a decade...era rather? Cheers.

Good one Spicoli. just shows you know your boxing history! Either that or you've spent too much time drinking beer in front of your TV!
I always remember that clip of Simon Brown getting knocked out cold, but still throwing punches in the air flat on his back, talk about discipline.

Well done sir, I actually was about to omit the year of his ko of Norris. The clue about him being on a roll was a reference to his nickname given to him by his trainer which is mantequilla. Of course that is butter in english hence the trainer thinking his fighter should be on a roll.

Nah on the great history, I just peaked in the early 90's Never understood how Norris totally dismissed Brown and I think the postponement gave Brown the edge.

Cool man, that hint was a doozy but well played. I never would have got that.
