Default Devon Alexander is now fighting Lee Purdy on May 18th!

Alexander vs. Purdy Now Set For May 18th Showdown - Boxing News

Signed done deal. Purdy is the IBF's #4 contender and has been approved as an opponent. Kell Brook keeps his mandatory position too. Devon should stop Purdy. He is solid but is just not on this level. Good work by Hearn to secure the opportunity for him though, I'm sure this will be Purdy's best payday and he has nothing to lose.

I think Purdy has a better shot then Kev did.

Hopefully Purdy will fair so badly that Alexander takes all Brits lightly, then Brook KOs him....

    That is unlikely but possible.

Brook also must have proved that his injury was medically valid. If not he probably would have lost his #1 status.

It is a fractured foot, it is legitimate. Brook is not a David Haye.

Alexander is very Lucky. Brook would have been all wrong for him. Gutted. Perhaps Purdy should learn some Judo moves before Devon damn near suffocates him with his impression of an Octopus.

Every time I see Purdy I think he looks scared, even in the pressers.

I think he'll look courageous, but lose convincingly. Hopefully though he can at least exposé some floors in Devon that Brook can spot. I doubt it though, Purdy isn't at that level. Great domestic and EU fighter though, one of our best.

Brook moves straight back and upright with his lead hand down.
