You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
I say he is done until the money runs out and then he will return with minimal impact. The Klitschko's broke him.
"Hoo nex? Hoo nex? Hoo nex?"
Pretty sure hes fighting James Toney for the last 20 packets of Fire sauce in some 2am Taco Bell drive thru right about now.
A bit harsh.
He's only 32. He did struggle against the klitschko brothers but he is a half decent heavyweight, something we're scarce of atm.

Last I heard, he was being considered as an opponent for Vyacheslav Glazkov.
Vyacheslav Glazkov is Pushing To Land Samuel Peter - Boxing News
Wasn't it Shannon Briggs, who said he heard Peter was 4-5 years older than his recorded age.

I had such high hopes for Samuel at one time. I thought maybe it would be him that would give Wlad the epic fight he so desperately needs to cement his otherwise great career. (Having said that... I can already hear Lyle's complaints about how I "hate" Wlad. ). But Samuel definitely.....er..... petered out (sorry) quite quickly.
Had Samuel fulfilled his potential, we may have had a modern day "Ali-Frazier" rivalry, with all the thrills that came with it.
Most of us were in Peter's corner, punching power is very seductive for boxing fans, and Samuel had enough to take out anyone if he could land it.
Helenius was the last confidence busting straw in my opinion.
Peter was very poor recently after he had put some good performances against Toney and Wlad and had become champ. I think he made his money and lost his motivation a bit like some other African fighters Quartey and Clotty who live like Princes in their native country. Anyone not willing to work hard in training should not come back into the game, especially heavyweights.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Sam Peter was a good heavyweight, not everyone can hold a title you know. The issue with Sam is this, he had the unenviable task of being "The Next Ike Ibeabuchi" and that's difficult for a few reasons #1 Sam Peter is Sam Peter not anyone else and #2 Ike Ibeabuchi had a third of a career in which he did some very shocking amazing things in the ring, but we never saw him vs the cream of the crop of his era so there is this mystery around him could he have walked through Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis? We'll never know we can only speculate.
Sam Peter had good power with a poor delivery of it. I knew when I first saw him that he was too slow, too wide, and too long in his punches and had he had a better trainer maybe that could have been changed. Sam had a great jab once he found it, his feet were extremely slow so he wasn't the kind of guy who could apply enough pressure to get those wear you down KO's, he also didn't throw punches in bunches to wear someone down. I think the Helenius fight he was just a beaten man vs a guy with the kind of style that could have an easy time with him as Wlad had just flat out demolished him right before that fight.
I think Sam Peter would have benefitted from learning from a guy like James Toney. James as a heavyweight wasn't too quick on his feet and his upper body movement was more rolling & twisting instead of bobbing & weaving which Sam also had trouble with. I believe Sam had the arm length and size to use the Philly Shell defense, but his handspeed may have hindered him being a true counter puncher, BUT having that skill in place would make it more dangerous to pounce on him in a corner. I also believe that if a trainer taught Sam to lighten up on his power punches to get his hands moving faster to distract his opponent or open up a defense and THEN throw the bombs it would have been better for his career. Perhaps Freddy Roach could have helped or Fritz Sdunek.
Sam Peter's management also royally fucked up when they steered him towards Wladimir (called that fight result baby ) and AWAY from the WBA's John Ruiz, Nicolay Valuev, & Ruslan Chagaev...all guys whom he could have beaten soundly IMO.
Sam Peter was a good fighter, has a good heart and hell I'd still like to see him and Arreola duke it out or even Stiverne for that matter
