Thread: James (Jem) Carney

I am searching for details about the life of James.
I have records of all his fights but I cannot find details of his death.
It is reported he died Sept 11 1941 in a London Hospital but which Hospital ?
Also did he ever marry ?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I find it very sad that nobody seems to have any information about the death of this champion fighter.The only record I have found was in an Australian newspaper which announced his death in a London Hospital. There are no Obituaries in any Enghlish newspapers that I can find. I have tried seeking help from all the boxing associations that I know but with no luck.I would have thought that someone somewhere would know about his demise and where he was buried.
He must have had a number of friends at the time? I wonder if they deserted him.

Unfortunately Wikipedia didn't exists when he died in 1941.

Maybe his family wanted it kept personal?

Maybe the doctors don't even know or couldn't figure out what killed him?

they give full details of his career, birth, death details and burial pl;ace.. The only mention of Jem Carney is his fight records. I wonder why?

Good luck with the search, I have not heard of him and I am a fountain of knowledge.

He was inducted into the hall of fame. Surely they must have some details of his life?
