    Default Trouts next move...

    Rematch or what?

How did you see the fight?

Both fighters missed alot of punches and it looked sloppy at times?

Where does trout go from here?

    Sturm.
needs a rebound fight, and he's on the slide, not a lot of options left at light middle except lara i suppose.
he could try and tackle martinez or GGG but both are bad fights after a loss.

Fight a legitimate bum, then a top contender OR for another title. But def he should take a bum for a tuneup. He can get a lightly regarded journeyman and put in some work for a few dollars...

But, that fight should happen right now. I mean, he should be in the ring with that bum by AT LEAST early August, if not sooner.
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!

Go for the winner of Angulo/Lara. Keep his name in the mix or he will fall back into the obscurity he was in prior to Cotto.

Brian Rose could use a jump in class.

Pretty safe fight for trout too.

Trout should win a alphabet strap and rematch cotto.

If I was Trout id be avoiding Angulo/Lara winner like the plague. Lara is horrible to fight and makes anyone look bad and Angulo is a killer and trout aint been in with a puncher like him before. Rose is a good shout. Easy fight for him and gets him some exposure outside the US although I dont think Rose would take the fight.

If I was him Id be targetting the Smith v Molina winner and if he wins that the winner of the Cotto v Alvarez fight for a unification fight.

Nah. If he wants to stay relevant after beating Cotto and losing to Alvarez then he's got to jump into the fire. I think Lara is a little overrated and Angulo is a bit of a one trick pony. Smith v Molina is a pretty good option but Smith is a Mayweather fighter and Trout is a Haymon fighter. It's probably more likely that Floyd fights Smith lol although I believe he will fight at 147 at least one more time. I doubt very much that he ever gets a rematch with Cotto or Alvarez.

Kirkland at 154 is a good move, and I think the Smith/Molina winner is a good move. Isn't there another Russian titleholder in the division?

I agree, picking an unrated fighter is the wrong move, he should be looking forward, not backward. You learn by fighting good opponents, what can you learn from an unrated opponent?
