Because Anthony Peterson is clearly just a straight killer I haven't seen him since he punked out against Rios and don't really care to. He was never as sharp as his brother imo,and he clearly doesn't have the balls Lamont does either. I don't think he punches much harder at that, at least not enough to turn fights around at top level. I still haven't seen Burns last fight so I'll reserve scoffing at this matchup for now, apparently he was well behind before his opponent quit

So u guys are already counting Peterson out because of one loss?? smh..

Burns be getting outboxed by Puerto Rican novice, what was his name again? lol

Peterson certainly has the talent to beat Burns. U dudes need to stop painting Burns as some elite champion. Dude is a B level fighter with an alphabet title and many guys can beat him.

It wasn't just that he lost...., it's the fact that he was completely useless against Rios' pressure and basically wanted out of the fight as soon as things got tough for him. When you consider that it was the only time he's shared the ring with a world level guy, it's hard not to put stock in that, surely? He isn't a huge puncher, isn't as technically sound as his brother and clearly doesn't have a lot of heart.

I don't think Burns is elite either for what that's worth, he's just a lot better than Anthony Peterson.

How do you decide which fighters you hate anyways, is it completely random I mean Peterson clearly quit against Rios, wanted nothing to do with a hard fight and started intentionally fouling him before the mid way point in the fight to get himself DQed. He's not Latino either, why is he in your good books? Didn't you love Kevin Mitchell to a while back?? Burns whipped his ass, thats far more impressive than anything Anthony has done surely?

Good thing for Peterson, Burns is far from that type of fighter

If you followed the brothers' careers from the beginning, you'd know that it was actually Anthony Peterson who was more hyped as the better of the two.. Fighters may be only good as their last fight but c/mon man, a young fighter kinda froze under the bright lights and choked but that aint the first.. Peterson was handling himself pretty well until Rios' power got to him.. Whatever happened, he's still young and can comeback cuz dude has potential.

Just cuz Rios beat him dont mean that BUrns can do the same cuz like VD mentioned, they are two very different fighters... BUrns couldnt hold Rios' spit bucket man. He dont got that kinda power.

Kevin Mitchell had tons of issues heading into the bout so i dont even hold that loss against him. He was boozing, womanizing, had that drug case, and failed to train properly.. A B level fighter beat an A level talent by circumstance..

BOth on their best night, Kev would make Burns look like a pedestrian. Look, a novice like Jose Gonzalez outboxed and dominated BUrns for half the fight. U dont think Kevin Mitchell can?? lol it's obvious that a fully focused Kev would dominate Burns just as he did Presscott...

On a sidenote, KEv is about two notches above Jose Gonzalez..

    Complete and total utter Krap.

"It felt at times as if he could have gone on for 15 rounds instead of the 12 we were supposed to have.“That display was brilliant and showed Ricky has upped his game.
“He usually starts well then has a breather but now he’s turned into an awesome talent who’s capable of unifying the belts in this division.
“I can’t think of anyone who would be a problem to him at the moment. Ricky’s got tremendous staying power.”

That is what Mitchell said, adding

"A ring is a ring and there are only two people who can get into it, wherever it is.
You can’t be a two-weight world champion and not have the ability to punch. Ricky showed that was the case against me.”

Scots boxer Ricky Burns is untouchable, says fallen challenger Kevin Mitchell - Daily Record

The TONS of issues you claim Kevin had heading into the bout are issues before the Katsidis fight.

" ...he's an awesome talent getting better and better" that's Mitchells words in the post fight press conference after being outboxed and outpunched by Burns. A friend who he has been sharing bills with since he was 18. A pity you could not be so magnanimous and accept that FACT like he can.

"BUrns couldnt hold Rios' spit bucket man" really? Rios got outboxed by a clearly limited Alvarado, Rios could be outboxed by a heavy bag. Gonzalez could run rings around him.

Rios is a b class slugger who despite failing to make weight, took 11 rounds to beat Murray. Something Mitchell did in 8 at championship weight. How many rounds did it take Burns to beat such a superior fighter? ...................4

(Gonzalez is a lot better than anybody is giving him credit for. Long arms, good skills, tidy feet, educated pressure.)
