Did he ever fight a grade A real middleweight other then Briscoe or Nino? Was either man grade A when he fought them? The inexperienced Briscoe fought him close in the first fight and almost knocked him out in the second go around. Nino was in the 90 fight range when they fought with one foot in retirement. Griffith and Napoles were way past their prime and neither had any business fighting at middleweight.
You forgot Rodrigo Valdez and Tom Bethea who was a dangerous light heavy contender everyone avoided the fact that most sportswriters often mentioned that this fighter was known for his offense which was also his defense. He was in there with quite a few notorious middleweights. I saw quite a few of his fights on Saturday Afternoon's Wide World of Sports He was Argentine and overshadowed by Ali and Duran at one venture and couldn't get fights because other middleweights feared him.

He was a strong hard punching fighter, a superb Middle-weight Champ trouble is we forget how
good he was, many great past Champions are simply forgot about from 20 years back.
But You -tube is a great tool for the dedicated boxing fan, plenty of fights interviews past and present.!
