Thread: Adrien Broner vs Fernando Quintero - My score

So I just watched this fight as people are saying it was a robbery that Broner won.

I can never get the video thing to show up in my posts but here's the link.

76-78 in favor of Quintero.

Tie - I initially scored this to Quintero, but it was closer than the previous 4 so I gave it 10-10

Teddy scored it a tie 76-76


One judge scored it 76-76 which I can understand.

Another judge scored it 77-75 to Broner, which I just can't understand.

The last judge scored it 78-74 to Broner, how can he even begin to give Broner 6 rounds? From rounds 2 to 6 he barely threw punches.

At one point, round 7 I believe, Teddy Atlas points out that "in the last 3 rounds Quintero has landed 90 punches to Broners 20".


A draw in my book would have been unfair but understandable.

But to give Broner 6 rounds is a travesty.

Broner won the 1st round and the last 2 rounds. Pretty easy to score imo and yeah its BS to have Broner winning. He has 2 losses on his record as far as im concerned (didn't think the De Leon fight was even close).

Yeah, I believe I scored it to PDL then the second time I watched it scored it a draw, at no point could I give it Broner, even after watching it again to confirm.

Thanks for taking the time to do a scorecard, i was going to check this out myself. But you seem like you know what your talking about, so ill go with your score. It seems like it was a closish fight much like the De Leon fight, but hard to have Broner the winner without being generous to Broner.

When you consider the fact that the first 20 buts or so on any propect with money behind him are throw aways why get your draws wrinkled! Its all coming soon for Broner and we'll see what the kids got!
All this hate isn't good for boxing it just drags the sport into a negative state! Its fine to dislike a fighters style or think he got a gimme but it never stops on these forums.
If you understand the business and how its conducted you should know the good stuff will be here once he's 25 or so. The kids got talent and he's gaining experience, he has a very good trainer and the proof will be here soon enough! The reason why people hate on him, is because many experts are saying he's the next big thing especially HBO team i mean comparing him with Duran, Jones, please. And it doesn't help that he's an absolute moron, i don't think he's that good he's been gifted easy belts. He's had 2 gift decisions aswell as a close decision win over gatekeeper Paulie Malignaggi.

Compare him with Mayweather when he was coming up, when he was destroying the likes of Genaro Hernandez, Angel Manfredy. And he's not even good enough to carry Mayweather's spit bucket.

He's a good fighter just not anywhere near a special one, and has he even took a risk yet ?

HBO promo is just promo! Why get all crazy about it? Their looking to sell a product and the negative side of the action is the easiest sale!!!
Now if someone thinks he has no talent then atleast thats a discussion but to bitch and moan about hype/promo isn't anything men should do! We watch the fight not the hype! Who cares what joe blow is saying just "ring the damn bell" and lets see who brings it!

I have a hard time calling this a robbery watching it live and on replay now. That just seems a bit Paula Dean pile on, but Broner did look pretty aweful. Round 3 was and continues to be all the problems Broner may very well run into as he goes up shown in one round form. He defence is very poor among other things.

Thanks for taking the time to do a scorecard, i was going to check this out myself. But you seem like you know what your talking about, so ill go with your score. It seems like it was a closish fight much like the De Leon fight, but hard to have Broner the winner without being generous to Broner.

That's the thing though. They are hyping him so much that even if the opponent does "bring it" and wins the fight, They are still giving it to broner. Trust me the hype isn't what people in the forum are pissed about, it's about him getting wins people feel he shouldn't have.

You mean give him the 6th? In rounds I had it 4-4. The 6th was close but Broner missed alot in 1st minute, Quintero worked well...2nd minute Broner was better with the jab but missed rights, 3rd Quintero worked him to ropes and had decent body work, busier. Busy round with Ref for Broner really...he was warned for holding twice, told to face his opponet and looked to him for a break once. Easier to score rounds sometimes if you break them into minutes, sometimes.
