Default Erislandy Lara vs. Austin Trout in play for the Mayweather-Alvarez undercard

    Boxing News | Lara-Trout on Mayweather-Alvarez undercard?

This might not be the most exciting fight, but for boxing purists this fight is a bit of a dream. I hope it comes off as these 2 are top contenders at the weight so it'd be a great bit of matchmaking.

This could be the card of the century. Are we talking about Lara-Trout, Garcia-Matthysse and Mayweather-Canelo on the same card?

I hope not. The schedule for the second half of the year is practically non-existent right now. They need to at least have the Matthysse fight on a different weekend. If it ever gets made anyway.

I slightly favor Lara over Trout. He has a biiger punch which is why I give him the edge. Very tight fight though. Who is everyone else picking?

Seriously, what a shitty PPV card.. Besides the main event, everything else is weak..

After this fight Broner, Manny, JMM-Bradley, Donaire, Mikey, GGG, Ruslan-Alvarado, Cotto, Haye-Fury Khan-Alexnder all will main event

And Wilder,Thurman, Stevonson, Paulie,Crawford, Figueroa, Guerrero, Mares, Santa Cruz, Lopez, B-Hop, Quillin all will most likely try to go again before the end of the year so it's not like they can over stack.

Oh man this one is a tough one to call, I do think Lara hits harder but both are pretty good boxers. I think I'll take Lara though just because he does have the pop where as Trout doesn't.

Behave yourself, ever heard of Don King and the fights he put on under Julio Ceaser Chavez cards.

I misread the title.. I thought Lara-Trout is a part of Marquez-Bradley card..

But still, Lara-Trout is not some great action fight and Garcia-Mytheese is still pending..

GBP always puts on better PPV events than Top Rank that's for sure..

The last time when GBP put on a stacked PPV card was back in 06 from what i can remember.. At least on paper, it looked like a great event..

Barrera VS Juarez 2 -- People can say what they want about Juarez but at the time, this rematch was big due to the fact that Juarez gave Barrera all he could handle and more and many felt that Barrera got a gift in their first bout..

    Barrios VS Guzman

    Israel Vazquez VS Jhonny Gonzalez

Yea I was wondering what you were complaining about. Lara - Trout isnt really something to get excited about but as for an undercard fight it is a good filler. If you throw in Matthysse v Garcia and few well matched prospects it will be a very good card (for nowadays anyway)

I'm not sure Lara-Trout is the fight to give casuals though I love the fact Trout is willing to take less money to be on this card vs a very hard opponent in Lara.

    My card would be:

    Floyd vs Canelo

    Garcia vs Lucas

    Quillin vs Rosado

Figueroa vs Demarco, Rees, Molina Abril or Bogere .

With Diego De La Hoyas debut televised on Showtime

I like Lara here. He'll out Trout Trout and Austin doesn't fall in love with the mentality of an aggressor. If Alvarez is picking spots late and boxing you Lara should do ok with accuracy.

Agreed, I actually see this as a pretty good matchup for Lara. His stock dropped a little for me after Angulo gave him so much hell, but Trout can't pull any big shots out of the fire like that and seemingly doesn't have to many gears after he's been hurt. I'd envision this being a pretty tight boxing match with Lara's better technique ruling it.

It's generally three months from a fight being made to it happening as most fight camps are thre months. There isn't a lot on the schedule for the next three months.

Yeah August is slow but a lot fighters have been linked for potential fights so it will be good. Danny-Lucas being on the Floyd card is good for boxing.
