Default Got the feeling Pac will be KO'ed again brutally

Remeber how RJJ got back to back KO'ed (Tarver, Glencoffee)? The sudden sign that his reign was over. For some reason I got the same feeling about Pac. I remember several boxers saying that once a guy gets brutally whacked like that he is NEVER the same. Also getting up in years isnt he. IS the Rios fight still on for November then?

I would rather have seen him fight Alvarado, I disagree that Manny, who has been boxing all of his life is going to be a different fighter because of this knockout. Boxing is in his blood. I think Rios will be baffled and get wild and lose caution. Age may end Manny but not against Rios.

Yea good comparison. It wouldn't shock me to see Pac get knocked out again.

On paper...Pac should brutalize Rios. But you just never know how a fighter, even one with as much heart as Pac, will respond after a brutal knockout. Not to mention...with Pac...distractions are ALWAYS an issue. It would surprise me if Rios knocked him out...but it wouldn't shock me.

The biggest thing for me prior to even a Bradley was his head. Do you wanna be President, a lounge singer or some Apostle. Physically he is not a massive collector of damage in last few...Marquez aside...but his fire has seemed to dampen. Bradley should not have been limping aroung on one foot being hit clean and come close to leaving it totally in hands of judges, he just shouldn't. Rios is a giant sponge and has shown it sticks on him, no defense, no imagination or second gear and he has the midsection of a softish mid century pin up girl. The Manny that was in early with Marquez should be sharp enough and on another level and pick Rios apart...if Alvarado boxes you and leaves you in lurges, come on man...but anything less and coming in with his huge melon in the clouds and not focused and I wouldn't rule anything out. Not digging but its not new for Manny to have been sparked out, and he more than came back from that..just never has he fallen from such a high mount.

good points boys. Maybe IM writing him off too soon, but it could well be he is shot to shit after that KO. I mean that was some frikiin KO really. Surprised he even woke up after that. Worth another look:

It was such a savage KO, I don't think anyone outside of his camp knows how that will affect him. He is obviously not a Roy Jones type of fighter and is no stranger to taking big punches, but nobody takes anything positive from that type of pole axe and he'd never actually been iced out before. Thing is right until that point, he looked a lot better against Marquez than he had in his few fights prior, against Bradley at least.

Does anyone remember when the Rios fight was actually announced, how long after that fight? It strikes me he wouldn't have taken it if there was reason to expect he was in a bad way from it, but it could just be his own ego refusing an easier opponent.

Actually it is. He had been stopped before. But those were a long time ago when nobody knew who the fuck he was. Plus he was conscious when they happened. He wasn't conscious against Marquez. He was knocked the fuck out. Literally put to sleep in front of millions. No way he dismisses that like nothing.

Manny had two ko losses in his earlier career as well. Within his first ten fights. He came back and is now Manny.

Manny will do well if stays away from counter punchers.

Rios might have done his homework and tweaked his style a bit but i doubt it.

Bob knows what he is doing putting pac in against rios and after the 24/7 episodes and all the press conferences the hype will be raised and pac will be in the mix again.

I would love to see pac fight khan.

No one knows how a fighter will react to a brutal KO, even the fighter themselves. So it will be interesting and a testimony to Manny’s character to take the punches and win the fight.
