Where do you have him on the p4p list? Can he beat Floyd? Martinez?
Where do you have him on the p4p list? Can he beat Floyd? Martinez?
Might be too good and boring for his own good..
A guy like lara imo has a style thatll make floyd look real bad cuz unlike most of his opponents, lara wouldnt attack floyd.. I think he would wait for floyd to come to him and it would be a horrible fight to watch and score...
And on top of that, he's a southpaw...
He is really good and a great sharpshooter, but a bit to conservative with his output for just about anyones liking. For some reason I seemed to think he was handier with his right hand than he showed against Trout also. If he could hook off the jab it would go a long ways towards upping the tempo of his fights imo. Definitely a hard fight for Floyd and given he's naturally a good deal bigger and not a draw I really doubt we'll ever see that.
As good as he wants to be.
He's better than I thought.
I think right now he beats Martinez but a fight with Floyd would be horrible, someone has already mentioned.

This would be a extremely hard fight for Floyd,! and one I feel he would not fancy one bit, theses
Cubans don't you just love um fantastic fighters.
Lara I would fancy would give Floyd his 1st defeat, it's a fight I would like to see may I say
Canelo wants to give this guy a wide birth, as I feel Lara would be way to much for him.
Lara has the tools to beat Floyd and Sergio IMO. He is a fantastic talent.
Nobody answered the question, where is he on your p4p list?
Its a shame this guy isn't very well known. I think majority of the purist agree Lara would give Floyd lots of trouble and likely beat him. We need to hype this guy up, so what if he bores you guys he is a superior boxer and imo deserves to be mentioned along Floyd, Pac, Martinez, Ward, Rigo. Right now IMO Lara could be the real #1 p4p fighter. I don't think anybody beats him especially seeing what he did to Trout.
I'd probably says he's around 4 or 5, but who knows. Pretty sure Floyd would find a way to beat him, but it would be an extremely hard stylistic matchup for him. Lara has terrific skills and body control but he does have lapses where he will just posture and wait to counter rather than working, as he has no inside game at all. I'd give Canelo a good chance to beat him in fact, even Cotto would have a shot if he's on form. Lets face it Angulo isn't great and he was able to swarm and hurt Lara badly several times. Trout was a great opponent for Lara because he wanted to do the same things and he's just not quite as good at any of them.
I'm not sure exactly where I would put him on my list, defo top 5. I would like to see him in there with another top fighter to really make a call on him.
That being said I think hes a stylistic nightmare for Floyd and would give him a real tough fight. I doubt that fight ever happens, too much risk and too little reward.

no way is he a top p4p guy. have we all forgotten some of his other fights? he should have lost to molina. molina is a pretty good fighter but not great. he got a draw with martirosyan. he didnt look that great. he dominated angulo but angulo got to him a few times and knocked him down twice. and remember, angulo really isnt that great. then he beat trout.
do i think that stylistically he would give floyd trouble? yes, but floyd would still win. if lara can beat canelo and another top 154 guy pretty easily then i would put him in there. rigo is definitely the better cuban so far.
I think we may see Floyd win out and go undefeated. Lara won't get close.
If we really want to see Mayweather tested, Lara wouldn't be the man.
Bigger man George, bigger punch!
